Description:

This is copy and paste due to the timing for this month and wanting to get started. I will work on making it more ours as time goes on.

Due to request, you will have the maximum amount of swap partners. E.g. if there are 5 people in the swap, you will have 4 partners. This will be adjusted just before assigning.

I have these ideas in my head. And I end up not doing them because of ... to little time .. too little motivation ... putting things off ... you know what I mean.

Let's motivate each other!!

1st step

Each participant will write in the comment section 1 art project (big or small) s/he would like to do, always wanted to try. Maybe some want to try the same thing and can help each other out, share some inspiration. If you cannot decide on one, then either make up your mind before sign up deadline or ask around. I will drop users who have not set their art goal prior to assigning partners

2nd step

You will finish this art project and then take pictures of it. Either scan it (if possible) or take a good picture with your camera. But please pay attention that you can see it well, maybe take two or three with detail shots?

This is about your art and your motivation so obviously you can do whatever you like.

3rd step

Then, after finishing, send your partner(s) a picture via email. (This is then for rating)

I encourage all participants to comment and critique, as this is never meant to be personal, but to give us another point of view on our art. It is so easy to get lost in detail and forget the overall picture.

We now have a facebook group. You need to be approved, but all of you can join :) Even if you skip a month or two, come join and see all the others work.

I encourage everybody to do this. Even if you might not be completely happy with the outcome, maybe others can give you useful tips on how to improve!

For those who don't use Facebook but still would like to share their work with the rest of the group, I will gladly add them for them. But this is always optional of course :)

Since this includes no sending/receiving physical mail, I will allow all users, but yet reserve the right to ban if you seem to bail on this project.

[The original owner] had the idea for this swap, because [she found] it easier to motivate [her]self to do more of what [she] always put up till another time if others join [her] in a "deadline".

Examples of projects:

Make a picture in a particular style (maybe a new one??)

Let's say you like to draw and always wanted a to start/finish a series, then you could say: "I will draw 3 pictures in this style to add to this series"

Design a set of ... ATCs, Greeting Cards, playing cards, a calendar, etc.

Learn a new technique and in this case show us your examples, steps and improvement

You could say "I want to sketch something every day" and then show us all your amazing artwork

Maybe your crafts are a little bigger, like a new piece of furniture?

Sculpt, sew, paint .... ANYTHING you have always wanted to do and never did ;)

I hope you now know what I mean.

Hope some will join, and please, ANY craft is welcome.

Rating guideline It has happened that some send late (I did too once) or some sent something other than what they initially named to be their project....how to rate then? Here are some tips I hope that help:

If your partner sends late

Everyone should notify the other person if they send late! It can happen and can be tolerated for a time.

If your partner sends late (with prior notice) and you feel like it was in an acceptable – or communicated – timeline, please rate a 5.

If your partner does not notify you, be so kind to send a reminder. If there is no reply after the two weeks of swap-bot regulations, feel free to rate a 1.

If your partner sends a different project

This is really tough, as they sent something ...

You may rate a 3. That is your absolute right, as projects are mandatory to be assigned prior to assigning partners. But then please be so kind to explain a bit in the comment of the rating.

If you feel the alternative project is comparable in work amount and effort, you can decide whether you rather rate a 5. Here you can also mention that this was another project but you felt it at the same level as the other one in the comment section of the rating.

I really hope this helps to clarify. If there are questions remaining, please message me or add a comment.

Inspired by a submission from last month, I plan to do the painted rock project. Thanks!

My project is to practise more crochet. It’s something I’ve dabbled in but want to improve at. Currently I can make crochet hearts & stars so I want to improve my skills by making more of those. I’m aiming for 5 of each which I will make into a hanging garland for my craft space.

I started an embroidered pet portrait a while ago but I abandoned it. My goal this month is to get it finished!

@littlemissme84 I used this link to teach myself crochet. I hope it's helpful to you!

I’m going to keep working on my watercolor style sea pictures. I’ve just ordered some brush pens and might try using those.
