Old Box ATC #3

Thanks for doing this swap again. I messed up and didn't sign up last time around. So now I have all the ATCs done ahead of time and waiting. It was fun to keep an eye out for boxes that would make a good ATC just 'as is'.

I sure hope that people use a bit of imagination for this swap. I for one had a lot of fun just boosting up the images without too much creative pressure. I found this to be a very easy swap and would probably like to do another one in the future. Just waiting- always waiting- for the partners. :)

I always "boost mine up", but not as much as others... I use stickers usually, they are usually fun or funky at the least. A plain cut out of a box is not all that much fun, unless it's a well planned cut out! susi

I love this idea! I am always looking for stuff that will make ATC's either as backgrounds or to fit on top. I once cut up an old issue of National Geographic and cut up all the colored pages into ATC size as backgrounds. They're awesome cuz you can't tell what they were originally, they just look like colored paper designs.

My swaps are being packed up today as I had them done early. They will be dropped in the mailbox today, going from me in USA to Nathalie in Beligum, Melonie in Canada and Downtown Painter in MI USA.

What I chose to do was to take my time and to carefully select interesting boxes and make the cuts in ways that made an interesting ATC without further embellishment. Hope you like them.

I have a question and I hope you all will help me. Is just cutting a box into an ATC size filling the reqirements of this swap? That is all one of my partners did and I'm wondering how to rate when we can rate. Thanks

An answer to Roberta about just cutting the atc without embellishments etc.. Sometimes just the way the box is cute is unique if you think about it. Sometimes you look at the card and think that is all the person done, but it is their way of doing them.

Actually, it is my understanding, the way this swap is written, as long as the person sent you 3 ATC's, they should be rated with a 5 because they met the requirement of the swap. If they go way above and beyond they get a heart, and if they send only 2, you might give them a 3. anyway, that is the way I see it. This actually is a lot harder swap than one would first think. I'm having a bit of a time finding some great boxes to use. (We use pretty generic foods here.) BUT, I did find one terrific GS cookie box that provided 2 terrific ATC's and 2 with creaes, which I'm not too happy about. Don't worry - I've still got a few hours to search! Just to clear up, if the person has sent you 3 atcs all from an old boxes they have met the requirments of the swap. If they embellish them then that is also fine.

As a graphic designer i actually just like to crop the boxes in interesting places just to make the person look at the artwork/text in a different context - as a piece of art.

Some people have said they enjoyed this swap because there isnt the added pressure of going all out on the embellishments.
