USA Only

In this swap, we will be creating Christmas surprise balls.

We will have 1 partner and the ball should be a good size.....large orange to grapefruit size. It should contain 10 to 20 items…..stocking stuffers items; candy, toys, craft items, embellishments, etc.....all of Christmas theme. Think holiday cracker prizes but with a Christmas theme. Let's try to amaze our partner with what they find inside. Make your ball and its contents something you would LOVE to receive. :o)

To make a surprise ball you will need a roll or 2 of red and / or green crepe paper streamer. Then starting at one end of the crepe paper, roll the paper around one gift item at a time, enclosing each item inside the paper until you've formed a ball with the surprises enclosed inside. Not using too much but enought to secure it well, glue or use a sticker to end of the crepe paper to the ball to finish. Decorate the outside of the ball so as to hide the glued spot. Not necessary if you used a sticker. These will have to be shipped in a small square box so as not to be flattened.

Here is a pretty good tutorial, but all surprises should be inside the center of the ball and there is no real need for the plastic ornament center. Anyway, the links have good pictures to explain how to wrap the ball.

This is such a cool idea. I'm excited to make one. Can we use yarns and ribbons or strictly crepe paper?

I did a Halloween surprise ball swap and enjoyed it so much that I went on to make one for my niece, who LOVED it! They are tons of fun to make and to receive. I am watching this swap and will join if I'm caught up with other obligations by the sign-up date. Thanks for hosting this!

I am so excited to make a suprise ball. Last night I started picking some stuff up but want to wait until partners are assigned to be sure to include things that will be special for them.

I've already wrapped up my ball. I included a bit of everything. I hope my partner has a fun time opening it. I can't wait to have the swap start :o)
