Description:

This swap is for people who know how to make a book from scratch! Not to mention make it pretty, make it personal and make it GREAT!

First, you MUST know how to make a book! Stab binding, coptic binding, even straight up grommet binding! 2 covers and a spine. The inside must be blank but, the outside covers must be decorated.

Secondly, you then need to comment what kind of book making you do and 3 things that you would especially like to have a journal designed around and, 5 things that you most definitely DO NOT want. Third you must read your partners profile, myspace, etsy favorites list etc. to get a REALLY good idea of what they like. Remember this is FOR someone, it's a place for them to put their thoughts, feelings, lists, genius inventions etc. in! YOU want THEM to love it.

For example my list would be: I Like - Bats, Simple designs and cool colors I Hate - Disney, Flowers, warm colors, Frogs, and overly girly pink things. I do grommet and coptic binding.

!!!To join this swap!!! You must have a 4.9+ rating, 10 actual mail sends not including ATC's or Postcards. A completely filled out profile and no 1's in the last 6 months and no no-sends! * This swap is international, so please be prepared to spend the money to send your book. * All made books must be atleast 4inchesx4inches on the front cover, completely decorated and tailored to your partners profile.

PM YOUR PARTNERS IF NEEDED! THIS IS THEIR JOURNAL YOU'RE MAKING AND IF YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT SOMETHING, ASK!!! Hearts should only be given to those that really paid attention and made a great journal. Something that, as soon as you get it you feel like it'd almost be a sin to write it. That deserves a heart!.

I will angel anyone that gets flaked on!! Also, don't be afraid if the book you make isn't barnes and noble/mass produced perfect. Just put your heart into and make it special for your partner.

If you search flicker for handmade or altered books, a lot of really great things come up!!

I do coptic binding and coil binding, primarily. I've also done stab bindings and other types on occasion.

I would love to see what someone comes up with for me - I don't have any strong preferences for theme. I would prefer unlined pages (coloured, patterned, or white paper, or a combination are all fine) and I like books that open fairly flat.

I wouldn't really like cutesy/Kawaii, trademarked characters, or anything gory, depressing, negative.

I'm not actually sure what kind of binding I do, I kind of just make things up as I go along, but it works I promise!!!

Like: a journal reconstructed from an old book, recycled pages, quirky images.

Dislike: anything too girly, plain pages, UMMM I am having a really hard time thinking of things I WOULDN'T like! I am really easy to please.

I'm glad that this is coming along! I checked out Yossarian and she has promised not to flake and, I think we should let her play!

This is so cool. I was just thinking about starting the same swap. I recently ordered my Christmas gift, a bind-it-all, and am looking forwarding to playing with it.

I will probably do wire binding so I can play with my new toy. But I may use a sewing technique (not sure what it's called) like I did on this handmade book.

I love purple, images of women, and nature.

I don't care for neon colors, glitter, trademarked characters . . . hmm, I'm not sure what else as I am easy to please.

oh, I would also prefer if the pages are unlined so I can draw or write as the mood hits me or a mixture like Dreamhope mentioned above.

I would love it my book were square - my favorite shape! I prefer unlined pages as well so I can illustrate the pages. I love it when a book lies flat - but that can't always happen. Check my profile - I love blues (indigo especially), asian inspired themes, hand carved stamps and illustrations. Feel free to embellish, illustrate or stamp somewhere on each page.

I got a bind-it-all for a pressie, so I can do wire binding. I have done a practice book using the sewing the pages together binding, so could do that too.

I love unexpected papers and materials, clashing colours, glitz and bling, spirals, faces and eyes. I also love images and colours of nature. I am very easy to please and almost anything goes really.

I don't like overly cute images, nothing too scary or sexy.

I tend to collage or draw in my books, so lined paper would not be my first choice.
