Description:

Greetings! Going to try this again :)

  1. Only 4.9's and higher may join this swap. It's my first one, so I want to be sure we are all in it to win it

  2. Please purchase a bound journal. That way we can use media mail. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT add anything to the journal that will not allow it to lay flat and it is bound. I'm trying to keep the costs down for everyone, but those are the USPS rules. Mine weighs almost nothing, and these can be picked up at the Dollar Tree, Target, Joann's etc.

  3. What do you add to your Slam book? Inside the front cover, add your name, Swapbot name, Name of swap, date, email address and your mailing address

  4. What do you put in the slam book when you receive it? The sky is the limit! what did you do today? Glue in a ticket stub and tell us about the movie. Favorite song? Quote? Flower? Interesting article you read? Stickers, washi, photos...prompt the next person with a question on their page if you like. draw a picture. Use your rubber stamps to create a page. What are you reading? Use your imagination, there is no wrong answer. Fill out 2 pages each time you receive a slam book. Two pages are not front and back. Let's leave the backs blank in case anyone wants to create art, so it won't bleed through

  5. When I kick off the swap, you will get your first partner to send to. If you receive a slam book, you rate a 5. Then I will create an email list to let you know the order in which we will round robin our slam books. See clarification of this below in the questions

  6. If at anytime you have to step out, contact me ASAP. We need to get whoever's Slam book you have, and get yours back to you. Real emergencies happen. Flaking...nope.

  7. Flaking is NOT ok. We can fold in our ranks...but really think about it if you want to participate. I will add a closing date that is 3 months out. If we, as a Round robin slam group find that's not enough time, we will email each other and work together to finish it up.

  8. Questions, please message me. I'll get the notification faster, so I can answer you ASAP.

Have fun - be creative and let's do this thing!

In a round robin don't you just keep mailing each journal to the same person until you get yours back? I would like to join but I'm not sure if the way it is set up is going to get confusing? I'm wondering what you mean by you will e-mail us a list of people to send the journals to. How would that work? I'm not trying to be a pain, I just want it to be clear before I join :)

How often do you plan on us mailing these books? And for how long? I see that you said you are thinking about 3 months, I just want to be sure that I can commit.

Also, will the whole RR be held off of swap-bot once this is established? Or will you continue to hold swaps here for the sending?

Thanks!

How many pages do we fill out each round?

Dsweeny 06/14/2017 #

@shinyserra - that is a good point...I've heard round robin can be single partner, or create a group round robin so our books are completed more quickly.

My thoughts were - Swapbot will assign our first partner. I will have everyone's email address. I will email everyone in the swap, assigning them their "order" of sending. For instance - you get me for 1st round assigned by swapbot. Your list would then read (assuming 5 people) 2nd round -USAFwife 3rd - Wingy 4th-BobbySue 5th-Lucy, then back to me, then back to #2, etc. Does that make sense?

Dsweeny 06/14/2017 #

@USAFwife - It would be nice to have everyone mail a book once per week at least. The length of time will depend on the speed at which people get their Slam books filled out and on to the next person. There will be people who let them stack up and send at once, and others who fill out and get them out quickly. I'm hoping for a happy medium so they aren't out there forever. The amount of time will depend on the speed at which our round robin team keep them moving. I plan to keep the RR off of swapbot once established, and we will communicate with each other via email. Thank you for asking, and I hope you'll join the fun!

@Wingy - As far as I'm concerned we can fill out 2 pages each round. That will cut down on time as well. I will add that to the description. Great point. Hope you will join the fun!

How are you determining pages? Are front and back of a sheet considered one page or two?

hayleyxfandora 06/16/2017 #

When finding a book to use how many pages should we be looking for it to contain? Also, is it okay if we fill out more than 2 pages or will it depend on how many people end up joining and need to add to the books?

hayleyxfandora 06/16/2017 #

I just realized it says in the title 80 pages so I figured that part out! Haha sorry about that! My question regarding if there's a max number of pages we can fill out each round though still remains! Thanks!

Dsweeny 06/16/2017 #

@hayleyxfandora - Hi there :) I would like us all to start with 2 pages as a beginning, but once we get things going, we can always adjust it if everyone is into some only doing 2 pages while others do more. I personally don't have any issue AT ALL doing more or having more done in my book...but let's decide that as a group. Thanks!

Dsweeny 06/17/2017 #

@ariestess - I would consider two pages as NOT the back. If folks want to create anything, it would show thru. I will update that in my swap. Hope you join the fun!

Do we decorate our cover first before we send it out?
