Description:

Create a mini book for your partner using collage and mixed media. Books should be around 2.5 x 4 inches in size give or take. Think zine or ATC sized or even smaller. The size is up to you.

I envision making a master sheet type collage and then cutting it down to create a book. Don't make your sheets to thick or they will be difficult to fold.

I'm also envisioning a stapled binding ( like this youtube example ) or you can sew your pages together.

Use 3 sheets that when folded will create the covers and 10 pages inside. If you're working with the 2.5 x 4 inch size, each sheet will be 2.5 x 8 inches and then folded to create the 2.5 x 4 inch book.

You can decorate the pages ahead of time, cut, fold and staple them together and then add additional elements to the inside as you see fit. Feel free to make the covers slightly thicker. You can use gelli prints, book pages, interesting ephemera as the page backgrounds and then add your gorgeous artsy stuff on top - painting, stenciling, drawing, collaging, stamping, etc.

Obviously this will be put in an envelope. Consider sending the mini book "opened" so it's a little flatter than if fully folded.

Have fun and let me know if you have questions!

Does regional include Canada?

Susiqz, it doesn't. It costs just as much for USA to send to Canada as it does to Australia. If you'd like to host an international version of this swap, I welcome the idea.
