Description:

My boyfriend's mother has recently been diagnosed with spindle cell carcinoma of the breast. The diagnosis was rather sudden--her tumor grew a matter of inches in a 6-month period. My boyfriend and I are both medical students and are studying far away from home, so we aren't able to be there for her as much as we would like.

She's already been through the first phase of her chemotherapy, then will soon start the second phase, followed by surgery and radiation. I know it's going to be a long haul and I immediately thought that Swap-Bot would be a fantastic place to draw support!

For this swap, please send her a handmade or store-bought card with a get-well-soon message inside. If you or someone you know has gone through the trials and tribulations of having breast cancer, and if you have a positive story to share, she would appreciate it very much.

For your partner, you will send them a handmade or store-bought greeting card with an uplifting message inside...let's keep it open-ended!

I will provide each of you with her address via private message as soon as partners are assigned.

Thank you for considering to join this swap! She absolutely loves happy mail and would be pleasantly surprised to know that others are thinking of her.

UPDATE: If you would like to send her some happy mail without joining the swap, let me know! It didn't cross my mind to make that an option in case anyone would prefer not to join the actual swap. Thank you again!

Hi I'm Stacy and I am willing to do both the swap and send happy mail to your boyfriends mother. God bless

I'm in Canada so can't join the swap but would love to send her a card. My mother went through something similar a while back and the cards she received really helped her through it. She's now cancer free for 7 years 🙂

Ditto for me. If one woman suffers, we all are touched.

Thank you all!

Thank you for doing this for your boyfriends mother. I am a cancer victor and I know how hard it can be. I would love to send her some encouragement.

I sure hope more people sign up, but I would be glad to send her a couple of cards over time when I get her address.

I am so pleased to see the support patients and survivors have for one another. Thank you for the positivity. She will be so happy!

I would love to send her a postcard without joining the swap! You have such a big heart for doing this :)

I'm about to assign partners shortly, then will message each of you individually!

Swapbot is kind of acting up for me, but I just wanted to say I sent out her postcard to you! The front is a Pantone pink, so you know it's me. Thanks again! :)

Wonderful!

I want to thank all of you for the happy mail I've received so far (from those in this swap and from those who opted-out but messaged me separately). This is so special. I'll eventually find the time to thank you individually!
