Description:

Easy swap. Newbies with filled out Profiles encouraged. I understand we all have to start somewhere and this is a great swap to do that. Send a stuffed envelope with assorted goodies to one partner. Please send, at least an envelope that measures approximately 6 x 9 inches, however you can certainly choose to send a larger envelope if you want. There is no minimum or maximum number of items to send, just make sure your envelope is stuffed full. The items you send are SENDER'S CHOICE. This is not a Profile swap, so please do not spend a lot of money shopping for profile surprises. This is more for you to send items that you have on hand, that are in good usable condition. This does not mean you can send your trash, send only items in good, usable condition. Please do not send items like, your used candy wrappers, or written on apt. card, or loose memo papers or post it scraps, etc. Do send items from the list below. If you are unsure of items, you can ask me before you send them.

Examples Include (but are not limited to )

Post cards,

Greeting Cards

Ribbons

Bookmarks

Buttons

Scrapbook papers, chipboard, etc ephemera

beads,charms

game pieces

altered art supplies

stickers

recipes/recipe cards

old photographs

small books

handmade items

craft supplies

teas/coffee/drink mixes

fabric scraps, sewing items

ribbons, yarns

rubber stamps or stamped images

movies/dvd's/cds

seeds

Or anything else you want to share that is in good, usable condition.

PLEASE REINFORCE your envelope with tape at the seams or use a larger envelope, if you think there is a chance it will explode during mailing. You may also choose to put stuff in a baggie in side the envelope in case the envelope tears in transit. If you are sending heavy items, consider using a flat rate envelope. This is a USA only swap. Have fun. No recent no sends allowed. Please rate your partner. No FLAKERS ALLOWED. Do Not Flake. As always, I reserve the right to ban individuals.

Please do not send individual scraps of memo paper/notebook/post-it type paper, etc. You may send the whole memo pad or notebook but scraps of note paper does not equal scrapbook papers.

New Swappers- Profile Help: To fill out your profile, go to Profile. Then select Edit Profile. Next select Personal. You will be brought to a screen where you can fill in the sections or add your own information. Things like favorite colors, crafts you do, items you collect, hobbies, likes/dislikes, etc...all help us get to know you and it helps your partner to send you items that you will like or that you can use.

Also, please read the Help! section (the link is on the top right hand side by the Forum and Group links), Swap-bot has a great FAQ and new user information section, that is a must read for new users.

USA Only. No recent unexplained low ratings.

Is there a minimum / maximum number of items to send? If we do send paper, what size requirements? Folded or not folded paper? Also, can we send an unopened bag of candies/nuts(after checking profile for allergies)? Thanks!

As stated above, there is No minimum or maximum to send. A person could choose to send one book they think their partner may like, or they may choose to fill the envelope with craft supplies. It's sender's choice so you never know what you will receive and you can not rate down because you do not like what was sent to you. Because it is sender's choice you could send tea, or coffee, or candy....I would always suggest looking at your partners profile, it's just the nice thing to do.

Also be mindful of the summer heat, most candies would not make it well in the summer.

I click "Join", and I agree to the terms, but the swap doesn't show up on my dashboard. Anyone know why?

AZmom875 07/22/2016 #

It is very likely that you were removed from the swap, and can not rejoin, Missir. Probably due to your low rating.

AZmom875 07/22/2016 #

Can I mention what else melts in my mailbox besides chocolate and candles?

Lip balms or chap sticks, purse sized hand lotions explode. Chewing gum has issues in the heat too.

It is hot here until OCT, it is still over 100F in OCT, and my mailbox gets HOT in the sun.

wolfeagle 07/22/2016 #

Yes, thank you @AZmom875 It's still can be over 100 here also, so those items would melt here too.

And, yes, Missir you were dropped. You would have received an email with the notification and reason, which is your recent low ratings. Though I am glad to see they are now 3's.

I'm still pretty new, and I'm curious as to how stuffed is stuffed for the purposes of this swap. So far I've filled a 6 x 9 envie about an inch thick in the middle, but there's still room in it for more. Should I add more? I haven't signed up yet, but I want to.

wolfeagle 07/23/2016 #

It does not need to be bulging at the seams, but should be stuffed full. There should not be only a couple flat items. You can send me a photo, or judge for yourself if it is full. Thanks for asking.

I am using a padded 6 x9 envelope, and plan to stuff it. I got my partner. I read her profile and plan to stuff it with stuff, I have that I think she will love. I am not sure what it weight yet. But sometimes I can stuff an envelope and it is very light. I hope that helps metaparadox.
