Description:

The goal for this swap is to take something 3D that would not be mailable on its own and make a 2D version of it that's mailable as a postcard.

Make sense?

For example, a slice of watermelon is definitely not mailable. (Do you want ants?) A piece of cardboard cut and painted to look like a slice of watermelon is mailable though. Foods are all good examples of things that can be recreated 2-dimensionally and work for this swap (hot dogs, ice cream cones, frappuccinos), but scaling up anything small or scaling down anything large will work, too. Monuments, cars, animals, diamond rings, Legos...

Sound fun? Any medium goes, sender's choice. The whole point is to send these naked through the mail so keep that in mind before you start creating. Odd shaped postcards require a non-machinable surcharge at the least. Any questions, ask!

A helpful tip (from someone who had to make a hot dog postcard before): coloring pages make great templates, just search for what you have in mind and "coloring sheet" and see what you get.

also, as a refresher, the minimum dimensions for a postcard are 3-1/2 inches high x 5 inches long x 0.007 inch thick.

So excited for this!

Aw shucks Steph :-( . . . I really would like to join this swap but I already have so much on my creative plate for the end of June that I can't add any more. I hope there will a re-run of this one sometime.
