Looking for an ATC swap where you can make something fun, just something you want to try out? This is that swap. Chose any of the following prompts, make two cards, and send them to two different people. You can make two cards from the same category or mix it up. The main thing is to have all the fun with this. After some of these categories I put an example to inspire you, but take it where it moves you. 1) Pop-up: Make something with a pop-up element. Maybe it's on the front, maybe it's between two cards, whatever. It should be able to be folded down somehow for mailing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tf5n77qY7Y 2) Fabric: Use cut-out fabric collaged over some cardstock- or a firmer fabric, whatever, you do you. You can even quilt this. I'm not the boss of you (except when I am). https://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=fabric%20atc&rs=typed&0=fabric%7Ctyped&1=atc%7Ctyped 3) Found materials: Clean out a drawer, or tidy up a room, or go for a walk. Take the clutter you cleared out and make a card with it. Think of this as our Project Runway Unconventional Materials challenge and get weird with it. Nothing that will rot, please. 4) Paint: That's right, paint. Bust out your oils or watercolors or acrylics or even make your own egg tempera and make some art happen. Just paint- not embellishments. 5) Print-making: This isn't stamping, it's using printmaking to make a bad-ass design. Monoprint, woodblock, lino, whatever you want to do. http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/diy-art-how-to-create-a-linocut-print-165526 6) Host Approval: Have an awesome idea I didn't say? Message me on private and I'll clear it- or not. We want these to be fun to make and fun to share. ~~~~~ BORING ADMINISTRATIVE STUFF ~~~~~ We gotta have some rules, so here they are: 1) No sticker slapping. This means you can't put a sticker on a playing card and send that out. You could use stickers in a collage, but there should be some artistic element to this swap. 2) No rotting art materials. This means don't use food or poop. I am sure no one here would do that, but I just wanted it out there in case someone was feeling crazy. 3) Keep your art in the traditional ATC size, but for this one you don't have to worry about it fitting in a flat sleeve if you pick some of the dimensional ones. You still have to fit it in an envelope, though, so be mindful. The links below have examples for using different materials or pop-up cards, which are all acceptable. 4) Send your art protected by a note card or at least some cardboard so it arrives nicely. 5) Send a card you'd be happy to get, BUT don't beat yourself up if you think your art isn't the best. As long as you put effort into it, it will be fun. I will angel if I need to, but please don't sign up unless you intend to follow through. Newbies are allowed with a filled-out profile. No recent 1s or 3s without talking to me first. If you don't get 2 cards, please message me! I need to know if people flake. http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Artist-Trading-Cards http://www.altered-art.net/make-artist-trading-cards-2.html http://gomakesomething.com/ht/thebasics/atc-basics/ |
