Let's play with making our own PC background in the style of the Dutch artist, Piet Mondrian. Here is the tutorial we will use, BUT we will scale it down to make ours an appropriate postcard size (4" x 6" is a common one) and securely adhere it to a sturdy backing for its travels through the postal system. You may use any 3 colours you like on white paper plus black for outlining your square template. You may also use any colouring medium you like (crayons, pencils, markers, paint, etc.). On the front, add a quote/saying of your choice (hand letter it or use a stamp or produce it digitally or use a rub-on - whatever works for you). Protection for the front of it is up to your judgment but the back of the PC must be naked and stamped (no full lamination or cello bags please). Finally, write a note to your partner about your experience with this technique. Have fun! |
