Description:

This swap is for a Snail Mail flip book. They are also called Pen Pal flip books. The theme and style of the flip book is up to the sender.

What is a flip book?

  • A flip book is made by folding a large piece of paper into sections or by taping pieces of paper together to form a booklet. Some people use file folder to make a booklet. Others use large Project Life cards to make a booklet

    • Your flip book will contain a letter to the recipient. It does not need to be long or overly personal. You may tuck it into a pocket or find another creative way to include it in the booklet.
  • Flip books have tags, pockets, and flaps, attached so that you can "flip" parts of the book as you look through it.

  • Each page is decorated.

  • You should include a small packet, pouch, or envelop that contains small craft items ( stickers, samples of washi tape, sequins, punch-outs, etc).

Do you have pics of one of these you send me

LMeowkin 02/28/2016 #

What type of rating requirements will you be looking at for this swap?

susand622 02/28/2016 #

@mcovey google pen pal flip books...there's a lot of really good tutorials :)

Watsonc7 02/28/2016 #

Yay! Is there a minimum page requirement?

Watsonc7 02/28/2016 #

The one I made from the tutorials was 4 pages decorated front and back, I haven't seen file folder ones so I just wanted to double check :)

I'm not going to retire a specific number of pages. I have made a couple of file folder flip books. You can see them on my YouTube channel : luckysnugs

I required a 4.9 rating. It didn't show up. I'll see if I can edit it in.

These are made many different ways. If you look up

  • FilLizlovspaper
  • Paper Sweetpea
  • Little Hot Tamale

on YouTube they all have great tutorials on how to make flip books from file folders to using project life cars, and scrapbook paper.

The 4.9 rating requirement is now part of the swap

I am also new to the swaps. I think I got to "join" before you had the rating up. I sent a few cards out today and hopefully the ratings will show up in time. I do want ya to know that I have been crafting for years and am not a flaker and always send things and am trust worthy. I hope that I do get to be part of the swap.
