Description:

Don't you just love receiving handmade items? Do you like creating handmade items?

For this swap, you will have one partner. You will send them two handmade items, made by you. Take your time and do your best work as I have left plenty of time between sign up and send by dates. What you send exactly is up to you but to try to keep it fair, here are some ground rules...

You should do your best work. We are all different skill levels but please take your time and show off what you can do!

Instead of a minimum value as I'd originally had, let me reiterate that this should be your best work.

Keep in mind that someone may be a papercrafter and another may be a wonderful knitter. The papercrafter may send two handmade cards while the knitter sends two handmade scarves. If both do their best work, neither should feel shorted, even if one doesn't particularly care for what they receive, they should be able to tell that time and care were put into the creations.

In the package with the two (or more if you choose) handmade items, write a quick note about the items. Just a few sentences will do. Perhaps tell how you learned the craft used to create them or why you chose certain elements. Don't forget to include your ID and the swap name.

Remember, this is completely sender's choice so you may not particularly like what you receive.

Very few handmade items are worth only $2.50. Even a handmade card is worth at least $5! And a handmade oven mitt is worth far more that $5 no matter how it's made. Hard work is valuable! Seems like this would be hard to do at the minimum. Just a my thoughts.

I agree with thebragal, for example I crochet, and have yarn at home, so if I make tea coaster, it will cost only cents, we cant value handmade by material cost.

I think the wording was not conveying what I meant. I meant that a storebought oven mitt is usually around $5.00, which is where I got the original $5.00 minimum.

I have taken the minimum out and instead tried to convey that the items should be your best work and something you'd like to receive.

I am glad you took the minimum out, it's more a question of love for what you make and send than of money! You can put lots of hour in something small, that have no price!

Partners assigned. Had to drop 2 due to not having met the requirements of 10 Type 2 swaps and 5 Type 3 swaps. Have fun everyone.
