Description:

Maybe I missed it, but it seems like it's been awhile since there's been a swap for photo inchies--so here's one which uses only 1 photo.

Choose a photo you've taken yourself and have it printed so that it's 4 x 6 inches. Back it with cardstock or something suitably sturdy and cut it into 1 x 1 inch squares. Send 6 squares to each of your 4 partners. That's it--no further embellishment necessary!

The subject matter of your photo is entirely up to you as long as you've taken the photo yourself. Kind of camera used and degree of digital alteration (or none at all) are also sender's choice.

You can print your photo at home or have it commercially printed--either is fine as long as the result is a good quality print that you then back with cardstock or the like before cutting.

The fine print: 1) Newbies are welcome. 2) Rated swappers with a rating below 4.95 will be dropped before partners are assigned. I will also drop swappers whose profiles may cause concern; if there's something on your profile that you think might raise eyebrows, please contact me in advance. 3) This is an international swap!

And--importantly--have fun!

I have been making ATC's and love it but now I think I'll give inchies a try. Sounds like fun. how do most people save them? Book or in some sort of frame?

When I receive inchies, I put a little piece of magnetic strip tape on the back of each one and put them up on my filing cabinet. I don't send them to my partners with the magnetic tape already on them because I'm not sure my partners would want to use/store them that way, but having the little tiles up on my metal cabinets at home and work always makes me smile!

Great idea beckra - if you get me as a partner I'd be completely ok with magnets on the back!

I have a box of photo slide sheets--plastic pages like those used for baseball cards and ATCs only smaller spaces-- for storing photo slides, and the inchies fit nicely in the sheets, so I can keep them in a binder.

The slots are large enough to take even some fairly thickly embellished inchies, and you can put two in each space, back to back with a little bit of card the size of a slide between them if you like.

sweetz15767 09/16/2008 #

woops meant to say more then six a partner..and i had a hard time choosing so my partners will get a few extras :P

beckra 09/16/2008 #

Hello, sweetz15767! As long as you send 6 inchies from the same photo to each partner, you're good. It's up to you whether you want to send extras from other photos, as well.
