Description:

This is a little more complicated than our usual swap but hopefully everyone will agree it will be a lot of fun!

In this swap, you will put a kit together with all the supplies your partner would need to create a craft item. Think about something you enjoy crafting and have lots of supplies for. Some examples are an ATC, a beaded piece of jewelry, a card, something created with felt, a bookmark, a dotee, a "Teesha" style patch, a cross stitched project, mail art, etc . You get the idea!

So, say you decide to put a kit together for your partner to create a card. You would cut a piece of card stock to the size of a card, you might score it to make it easier for your partner to fold it in half, rubber stamp several images onto card stock, throw in some brads, ribbon, an envelope….basically everything your partner would need to create a greeting card. Then, make sure you jot down some useful instructions so they are able to learn how to put it all together. Yes, if you would prefer to purchase a kit from the store you can do that instead. Just be sure it has everything your partner would need or add to it from your supplies to make it complete.

This is part 1 of two swaps you must join to participate. In part 1, since we are just gathering the supplies needed to send to our partner, we shouldn’t need long. You will have 2 weeks to join the swap then a week to send it to your partner. I have also created part 2 which you must also join to participate. In part 2, once all partners have received their kits from part 1, they will put together their project and mail it to their next partner.

Yay, let’s share a favorite craft and kit together everything needed so our partner can create a project with it!

Rules: Since it’s extremely important that everyone receives their packages, I am setting a strict 5 rating. If you have less than a 5 rating, the only way you can participate is to put your kit together in advance and send me a picture of it ready to mail. I reserve the right to remove anyone I feel may endanger the swap experience and ask that anyone who is not 100% certain they can follow through not join.

To avoid delays in postage, I am making this a US only swap. International friends, anyone is welcome to create another swap for your region.

Please join part 1 and part 2 at the same time. The sign up dates will close on the same date. The completion dates will be different to give everyone time to receive their kits and create their projects

This might just be us, Deanie! :) I'm excited - I think it is very cool concept!

It looks like fun. I may well run an international version of this, Deanie. Need to wait til I am back in work though, so I can copy/paste and tweak the swap spec. I've yet to master the art of copy and paste on my tablet...

@Artsy that's ok maybe people will be more interested after they see us do it once LOL. @Minxy do it! xo

This is such a fun idea! If I choose to work with felt (which I most likely will), am I supposed to cut out the piece myself, or give a piece of felt with the pattern for my partner to cut out herself?

Artsynerdgirl 08/22/2015 #

@ktmcg82 - I'd say cut the felt out...... I'm useless at patterning, so that would be helpful :)

deanie 08/22/2015 #

@ktmcg82 I would say cut the felt out and then if you are feeling even more instructional, send a pattern too so they can try both ways.

I logged in just now thinking I had missed the deadline for sending this out to everyone and was in a panic LOL Long week!

Lol! Ok thanks for the advice, ladies. Now to choose a cute patten!

Such a fun swap idea!! I've been thinking on it and had to cave once I got a solid idea and got some supplies ready. I've just finished my kit and I'm so excited! I really hope my craft comes back to me lol
