Paper Dog Tags

While I was making sure I had the right measurements for a standard #8 tag for a previous swap creation, I came across the measurements for dog tags and I thought it would be fun to make artsy paper dog tags. These are not meant to be worn and please do not put any personal information on them. Treat them as you would an ATC or an inchie.

Dog tags are 2" long and 1 1/8" wide. If you have a real dog tag to make a template that's fantastic. If not, you can find images on the interwebs. The short ends are rounded like an arc. Do your best.

You will make 2 tags for 1 partner. Please string them on ribbon, bakers twine, jute, nice string, yarn, etc. Doesn't have to be long enough to pull over your head but maybe 8" or so. (I'm winging this part)

If you have metal tags, you are welcome to use them (I think Ranger has some on the market) but it's not necessary. A good sturdy heavy-weight paper will do.

Theme: Try to find something on your partner's profile. I have found that some swappers give little information on their likes and dislikes (and conversely, some are super detailed). Do your best to find a theme based on your partners preferences but if they don't have a lot of info, then it's sender's choice.

NO STICKER SLAPPING. Do your best but put some effort into it. We all agree that artist ability varies from person to person, but a single sticker or image and a bit of handwriting does not count as effort and will get you banned from further swaps. I will angel for any swapper who gets a tag that is sticker slapped. I will also ask for you to send me a pic of it. I'm sorry if I come across as a total jerk but honestly, we should all be adults and this shouldn't even be the issue that it is.

Minimum rating of 4.98. New swappers are welcome with a well filled out profile.

This is a new thing for me. I've never seen a swap for paper dog tags so it may be a bit of a learning curve for all of us. I'm giving a generous amount of time for both sign up and creation.
