PPU: Color My Pockets Red

Hello & welcome to our first group swap. Also - thanks for joining the group. :-)

This will be international so we can all get to know each other a bit. Yes - there will be regional ones later.

So let's take a 9 pocket (or 10 pockets only if you can't find 9) sheet & decorate all the pockets with the color red. The items you put in the pockets do not have to be red. Only the pocket decorations.

I personally only decorate one side of the pockets - the front side. You can decorate both sides if you chose but if your sender only decorates one side you cannot rate them down ok?

It is senders choice on what to fill the pockets with but please check profiles for allergies or strong dislikes. If someone hates tea, obviously don't send it. It is waste of time & energy on both ends.

Please include a short (or long if you wish) letter to your partner that includes this group name, this swap name, and your user I.D. if you want to be rated promptly. Even if you don't want to be long-term pen pals with them, please include a letter to say hello. Besides, it fills one of your 9 pockets and you are only left with 8 to finish filling. :-)

I will angel if needed but I highly doubt I will have to because of the awesome group of swappers we have.

Some examples of pocket stuffers for people who have never done these before are:

Washi tape samples, teas/coffees, coins, used stamps, new stamps, post-it-notes, paper clips, buttons, gardening seeds, ATC supplies & especially ATC's you may no longer want - they fit inside these pockets perfectly, ephemera, die cuts, stamped images, fortune cookie fortunes, a magazine article, poems, etc. etc.

Because the art is fairly new so are most of the artists doing it. Please be kind with your comments. We will have all levels of skills doing these to begin with.

Packaging these are very important & somewhat controversial already amongst pocket letter swappers. Ideally, they say to throw these in #10 business sized envelopes with one 49 cent stamp (in the USA only obviously) and mail.

I have yet to mail any of mine for 49 cents. Because a lot of what I send is not completely flat. But I do not mind the additional expense. I want to send something that my partner will enjoy not only what fits my budget.

We want these swaps to arrive intact so please mail them in any manner that will get them that way to your partner. I don't care if you have to use a shoe box, pizza box, hat box or whatever.

My co-founder is from Germany & says it's actually cheaper in some EU countries to mail them in a bubble mailer. So you may get yours that way if you get a European partner.

When I send overseas - I use a bubble mailer. When I send within the US, I use a #10 business envelope but it is the strong, brown, craft type - not the kind that is security lined & you mail your bills in. Then I tape the heck out of it with pretty duct tape. The postal machines, in the US anyway, will eat these swaps alive. I always get mine hand-cancelled.

So, one partner, one 9-pocket sheet filled with goodies/letter & pockets decorated in red.
