LillyCalliope, you can wrap it around a playing card. The tape is easily removed from the waxy finish of the card.

Thanks for the suggestion. What about a round clothespin, or another round rod-type item?

LillyCalliope, I personally prefer wrapping it around something flat because you can get charged extra for having thicker envelopes going out. Especially since this is international, I think keeping it flat keeps the costs down (not that it's that pricey though). The general rule of thumb is to wrap it around something that the tape won't stick to so that the recipient isn't struggling with it.

You can cover a card with packing tape first ( both sifdes), then wrap the washing around the card:-)

Why not head to a Salvation Army or other thrift store for the cards? Bound to be some for a fraction of what a new pack would cost.

I get them at Dollar Tree just for this reason. :)

just watch some of the dollar store cards...the tape does not release easily from it and the last wrap is wasted. I cover dollar store cards with packing tape.

Thanks. I decided to go a different route - I received some washi on plastic flat bobbins and liked that a lot. So that's how I'll do it. The tape releases nicely and is much more sturdy than a card. And I'm putting plenty of extra so there are no concerns about the last piece. :)
