Description:

I was thinking of swaps for the new year and came up with this idea of creating a junk journal, piece by piece. Some swaps will be for signatures, some for goodies and others for specific items.

This initial swap will be for signatures that consist of various junk journal worthy papers, envies, etc. We will make our signatures of at least 5 pieces (giving a 10 page piece when folded) of varying sizes with the largest being approx. 6x9 when folded in half and the smallest being 3x5 when folded.

You can use envelopes, graph paper, book pages, magazine pages, stationary sheets, etc. and 1 piece of scrapbooking type paper. Lay your chosen pieces together in a pile and stitch up the middle. You may choose to have some pieces slightly off center so one side is a bit larger than the other. Fold the signature in half at the stitching line.

Embellish, stamp or add cut outs etc to some of the pieces. Add pockets, additional stitching and so on to create a great piece for your partner. Include some tags, etc in a couple of the pockets maybe, and add some fibers, or whatever you can to create something your partner will truly love to add to their journal.

No cover is necessary as this will only be one of the signatures in our finished journals.

Create something you would love to receive. :-)

Are we just adding a few things and this will not be a finished signature so the partner who receives it will work on it too? No painted pages, etc? Sorry, I always seem to have too many questions when starting something new.

@Artstamper . It's no problem.. I find the questions help me in future swaps.. :-) I thought we could add a few things but keep it so that its not complete.. I don't want empty pages but not so full that the recipient couldn't add anything if they wanted.. For instance, a few painted pages is ok, as long as there is some room left for "more".. A embellished place for a tuck in, but the tuck in isn't complete.. A tag decorated on one side leaving the other blank.. A pocket with something decorating it but empty..or a pocket with something in it but not decorated.. Does that make sense? Haha...why do I think not!? ;-)

I think I've got it, I just didn' want to do too much if It wasn't required.
