Description:

I originally started making these cards for swaps hosted by @SFreer She is presently taking a break from hosting her series and I thought these were a good fit for this group. If there is enough interest I will host a round every 4-6 weeks

I approach these cards as being 2-sided ATCs. The sides can relate to each other or be separate entities. You can use any media you want -- maybe even approach them as mini journal pages. At least one side must have an inspirational message -- word(s) or quotes of some kind.

You can take a standard playing card, paint both sides, and decorate it up. Or you can make a "two-sided" ATC using normal card stock. You will make two cards for one partner.

If there is interest in me hosting these swaps for awhile we will wind up with a nice little deck of inspirational cards. I can also increase the number of cards done per round, or the number of partners, if there is enough interest. JLMK

You can see examples of the cards I've made so far in my Flicker Album: Inspiration Cards.

Examples

For this first swap I will do a long lead time and send time. Hopefully we can get these mailed during the Christmas crush without problems. If I host future swaps I will probably go on a 2 week sign-up period then two-week send period. These are Sender's Choice so if you get on a roll you can make some ahead of schedule.

Nitty Gritty:

2 Cards to 1 Partner (ATC sized cards 2.5" x 3.5")

Decorate both sides of the card

Sender's choice of design, theme, and medium

Designs must include an inspirational message

If you have any questions or concerns please email me. Have fun, be creative, spread the happiness.

Nice to see you again Sandra. Thanks for everyone for signing up. Partners are assigned. I will plan on hosting this as a regular series after the holiday hubbub settles down (but remember it is Sender's Choice so you can create ahead). Everyone have safe and happy holidays!

Since doing these are like doing 2 ATCs, it'd be great if, in future, they could stipulate one card per person instead of two (thinking of the time factor, what with other swaps on the go). Wondering what others prefer?

I'll take a PM poll of interested parties in early January (before I host the next round). The swap I was in before did 4 cards to one person -- which was a LOT of work and maybe why the swap series fizzled so quickly. Since you can make these ahead of time as the inspiration strikes I personally don't mind doing 2 cards at once. Another option would be one card to 2 partners? I would like our decks of cards to grow nicely -- one card per month seems a bit slow. But everyone think on what might work and I'll take everyone's opinion's into account.

It was okay doing 2 for one person - once I got started, I was inspired, lol. I'd rather keep it at one person (one stamp). Got a CDN this round, so I could add stuff and make it the same as a US stamp :)
