Disappearing 4 Patch Series – October

This block of the month will run for six months. Each month you will make two blocks for your partner. It will be made using rainbow colors. We will use white and the rainbow color of the month. We will use 5” squares like Judy does from Missouri Quilt Co (video link below).

If you do all six months, you will have 12 blocks that will be the colors of the rainbow. You do not have to do all six months – just the ones you wish to do.

Here are few tutorials on how to make the pattern:

Material Girl Tutorial

Chock-a-block Tutorial

For your partner:

Make 2 blocks using white and a rainbow color.
The white can be solid or a print.
The color will be a print.

Use different color fabric for each block.
Use 5” fabric squares to make your block.
Your finished block will be 8-1/2” square.

The colors will be:

October – Green

November – Yellow

December - Red

January – Blue

February – Purple

March – Orange

Hope you will join in. Let me know if you have any questions!

Enjoy!!!

Love this block. I'm going to print the tutorial but I am not joining the swap because I've just sworn off international swaps. The summer has meant too many $5 to $6 dollar envelopes sent. It's not your fault, it's the P.O. -- my postal clerk is a sweety but he hates all the inputting he has to do for an overseas package.

I had just signed up, then immediately dropped from the swap--I love this block, too, but, sadly, this swap is only an 8.5" block--I only do 12.5"--I know this sounds snarky, I don't mean it that way at all, I really do like the idea! Do you mind if I use your idea for a larger block swap later?

June - I understand. To mail international now is too expensive. I have been mailing in two envelopes and getting them to go as a letter.

Twobluecrows - not a problem. You can do a 12.5" swap. :0

We need to find the time to meet soon!

I would like to join this swap but as you say it is expensive to send over seas. As I live in Great Britain it would be nice if there were some G.B members who would join this group then perhaps we would get all the G.B members to send to each other and then it wouldn't be so expensive.

hummmm, this looks interesting, if you do another round I just may have to join. I'm going to watch the tutorials and see how much I like them.

Yes, two blocks to the same person. Use different color fabric in each.
