The whole month of October is dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness!

• I support the awareness of all cancers but for this month I wanted to share on breast cancer.

• CREATE A RIBBON OF HOPE

October has been set up as a month to spread the word on Breast Cancer Awareness. One important area is screening and I would like to share that with you. Woman age 40yr should have yearly mammograms. Women in their 20's & 30's should have a breast exam done by a doctor every 3yrs and women in their 40's every year. Women can also perform self breast exams and know what is and isn't normal for their breasts.

In honor of this month, send a hand-crafted or store bought pink stationery set. The stationery does not need to have BCA or pink ribbon on it...that's not a requirement.

So the idea is to make a pink snail mail kit. This is not about throwing pink paper in a pink envelope, it’s about making a matching set. Your kit must contain at least 5 different items – this is the absolute minimum and use your best judgement, don't send something you wouldn't want to receive please!

Postage fee:

• To send the package it must cost you at least $1.00 / 2 ounces or more to ship it by USPS mail.

Package requirements hand-crafted or store bought but everything must be pink:

• Minimum of two pink sheets of stationery (at least 5x7 in size) - decorated, do not fold the sheets.

• Minimum of one envelope to fit / go with the stationery sheets

• Minimum of one notecard (any size)

• Minimum of one pink envelope to fit / go with the notecard

• Minimum of 10 stickers; any size / random

• Minimum of one postcard - any women's theme

• Make a pink reminder index card for your partner to post on their calendar or planner

Optional items (just ideas, not required):

• PINK Ribbon pin

• PINK Address labels (with partner's name and address)

• PINK Mailing labels (with "to" to put on envelopes or packages)

• PINK Pen and/or pencil

• PINK Folder to hold the stationery set

• BCA Postage stamps

• PINK Bookmark

• PINK Swap cards

You could put it all in a medium PINK envelope, PINK box, PINK folder, plastic wallet, make a PINK fabric pouch, a tin, stationery folio ….you get the idea.

You will have 7 days to send this swap, so only join in if your time permits. You can get most of the items done now!

ATTENTION: Please make sure you put some love and thoughtfulness in making this kit and is something that you would be happy and excited to receive. Be CREATIVE - since it's a kit - you can put it together in a flat box or a zipper plastic envelope too.
