Description: | |
We are all familiar with Russian nesting Matryoshka dolls. Each doll opens up to reveal another inside until the smallest doll is revealed. For this swap, we are going to make a set of collage envies for our partner in the same style. To begin with, we will create a skinny or ATC or other small collage goodie and put into a slightly larger envie which we will then cover with collage also. This collaged envie will be put into another slightly larger envie which we will then do more collage work on. We will then put all this work into one larger envie which we will then cover with collage one last time. So to recap, we have one small collaged art piece and 3 collaged envelopes in graduated sizes. At this point, I feel I should say that I really have no idea how much interest this swap will generate. It is somewhat labor intensive and will be no doubt cost a little more to send then a regular envie. However, I thought it would be fun and wanted to put it "out there" anyway. I thought the envie sizes could work out something like a 3.5x5 with a ATC inside it fitting into a 4x6 fitting into a 5x7. In theory that should work! Haha! You are welcome to make each envie follow a colour scheme or theme or do each one completely different. Since this is a paper collage group, I think we should limit the medium to just paper collage with perhaps some ink stamping if you wish. Keep in mind the collage can include all paper types including magazine images, book pages, maps, ephemera, etc. Even some washi tape is paper based and will be allowed. Just none of the more plastic type. No stickers, store bought die cuts, or non paper elements allowed. Have fun! :) |
