Description:

Hello All,

Junemoon did not want to continue the Ongoing Black and White Quilt Block swap as she has finished her project. So I asked her permission to carry it on as I had only just started mine, BUT I am adding a TWIST to get more people interested!

You will make a 12-1/2 inch square block using black and white fabrics. The design and method of making the block is maker's choice -- a traditional block (many ideas online and in magazines), a block of your own design, a paper pieced block -- just so you use black and white, applique if you like. Here is the TWIST - If your partner would like a TWIST of color - They will comment below what color they would like added in. I would suggest adding a tonal small print fabric for that pop of color. We have all seen those gorgeous black and white quilts with that splash of color. I have found some nice examples on this website http://sodypopsart.wordpress.com/2009/04/02/black-and-white-quilt/

I will check the comments regularly for questions and answer them the best I can.

I plan to do this as a monthly swap - If we get regulars that would like to push the time up a bit and do more than one a month or increase partners I'd be willing to do that too. If I am unable to carry this on I would love for someone else to take the reins in the future!

I'm going to crunch the time a little. You'll have seven days to sign up and 21 to make the block and send it.

Use nice cotton quilting fabric. You will have one partner. This is a group swap so it is international. If you're worried about postage, it's not that much. If you fold your block flat and iron it, it can go in a standard envelope and won't cost more than $2.20 and possibly only $1.10 (mainly depending on your postal clerk).

My extra color choice would be gold or orange -- nice and bright.
