Description:

I'm not sure if a swap like this has been created before but I'd really love to host one ever since I got the hand of making envies out of magazine pages. There was a time when I spent almost the whole day doing all sorts of sizes of envies from magazine pages.

Anyway, I wanna share it so I thought of a swap! I'm sure some of you have already done DIY envies, so this ain't so hard but if you need tutorials or instructions, I found some blogs that teaches ya. Here they are:

  1. http://www.ohsoprettythediaries.com/2012/08/the-diy-magazine-envelopes.html

  2. http://blog.ecoetsy.com/2013/02/diy-envelope-from-recycled-magazine/html

  3. http://livingwithjane.com/diy-magazine-envelopes-and-cd-case

If you need envelope patterns to base your outline here are some I found on the web too:

  1. http://www.pinterest.com/justcra/envelope-templates/

2.http://rubberstamping.about.com/od/projects/ss/EasyEnvelope.htm

  1. http://www.countryliving.com/crafts/how-to-make-an-envelope#slide-1

  2. http://www.florencefinds.com/a-diy-how-to-craft-a-glassine-envelope/

So here are the rules:

  • 1 partner

  • enevelopes should be made in the size of at least 3-1/2 inches high x 5 inches long (or the regualr envelope size)

  • magazine pages must be something interesting and something that you would like to get so visiting your partner's profile is a suggestion and might just get you a heart!

  • write a one page letter about anything (yourself, your day, a story, etc. - this could also get you a new penpal!)

  • the DIY magazine envie should be the envelope that you use in sending to your partner in the mail, meaning this will be the envie you use in containing your letter and other stuff

  • include at least 2 surprises (e.g. smaller diy envie that you made, notecards, tea, post-it, stationery etc.)

  • members need to have at least 4.9 rating to avoid flakers because flakers are no fun!

Ok, so take out those old magazines and start making some envies!

Susi 02/12/2014 #

how many envies need to be made?

thelittledreamcatcher 02/12/2014 #

Hi @Susi :)

The rule is to make one diy magazine envelope to use in sending your mail. If you want to make some more in different sizes and also send to your partner, that's okay too!

@soulpeacelove is in your swap. Not sure how with her ratings. She's a major flaker and a double profiler.

Hi @VivaLaDiane she messaged me regarding it and told me her reasons. I believe her and thought that anyone should be given a chance. She has had good ratings recently. If anyone doesnt get her mail at least after a month from the deadline, I can angel :)

Hi @thelittledreamcatcher Don't you think @soulpeacelove needs to make good on all the people that gave her a 2nd chance in June and July of 2013. They are all very active. She needs to make good on all the people she has flaked on before joining swaps! Please, read her profile!!!

thelittledreamcatcher 02/19/2014 #

Hi @BookSlinger I understand that some of you are feeling uncomfortable with her participation given her past low ratings. I have decided to just let her go since I want the rest of the participants to feel at ease with their partners.

@soulpeacelove I sent you a message and hope you understand.

Thank you!
