to make mine I put acetone in a bottle cap and pried it out with needle nose pliers (tweezer usually work too). This took several tries and I promise the rest is easier.

I then painted the inside with acrylic paint. You can use nail polish...probably.

Apply a kawaii sticker and some glitter or tiny confetti.

at this point you can use resin that you mix and use in a well ventilated area preferably with a mask, or do what I do and use acrylic glazing medium. use glazing medium in layers.

to make a hole for the wire or jump ring use a small drill or a hammer and nail.

You can also glue a pin back or magnet on the back. If you prefer that you can ask your partner but the swap is for a charm so no promises...unless its me. I have all the craft supplies. shhhh....

If anyone wants to do this and has no kawaii stickers...make me a swap offer. I'll get you some.

Another option but be careful. http://alteredstuff.blogspot.com/2007/08/bottlecap-crafting-tutorial.html?m=1 A heat gun may work instead

I use glossy accents to fill the bottle cap. It might cost a little more and people gasp when I tell them how I use it. However, I use glossy accents for everything. It works wonders as a strong glue too.

As with glossy accents though you need to be careful how you handle your bottle. if it gets shaken or dropped bubbles can form. This is easily fixable though if one comes out. Just simply pop it with a needle ^.^

I let mine sit overnight and it's good to go the next day.

I might check that out. I have a gift card for the local art supply store !

Hey how are you guys mailing these out? I don't want to send a whole bubble mailer for such a small item because it seems over kill. But I can't think of a better idea..

wyrdfae 03/26/2014 #

I used a bubble mailer

If you want to use a regular envie I would tape it a lot and/or put it in a ziplock with your partner's address enclosed there as well and package rate postage. (That's why it's USA only).

This is what works in my experience. I just got a piece of mail art postmarked 11 months ago w postage due. I'm happy to pay to receive in a timely fashion but wasn't given an option. Please use appropriate postage. Tape or an extra layer of a ziplock bag with the address enclosed can save it from a machine mangled mess and lost items.

I'm always very careful with my packaging. I was just wondering if there was another option I hadn't thought of. :)
