Pick 3 Swap - March
Swap Coordinator:institches (contact)
Swap categories: Challenges  Miscellaneous  Newbie
Number of people in swap:175
Location:Regional - USA
Type:Type 3: Package or craft
Last day to signup/drop:March 2, 2014
Date items must be sent by:March 15, 2014
Number of swap partners:1
Description:

PLEASE NOTE ~ I've extended the date by a couple days. Something came up and I won't be available to assign partners this weekend.

This is a newbie friendly swap. It should be extremely easy to do as long as you follow the guidelines below. Experienced swappers are also welcome.

Just choose three different things from the list below and send to your partner before the deadline.

a note on how you came to find swap bot

1 unused notecard with envelope

1 sheet of stickers - none smaller than a US penny

1 unused postcard

3 handmade envelopes

1 foreign coin

1 bookmark

A letter set (2 sheets of stationery w/matching envelope)

5 different sheets of note/memo paper

A handmade item

1 ATC (they are for trading!)

An advertising ink pen

10 used postage stamps

3 book pages

1 piece of fabric at least 4x4 inches

3 - 4x6 decorative recipe cards

2 recipes on decorative recipe cards

3 scrap pieces of decorative paper (at least ATC size)

1 sheet of 30 address labels for your partner

1 small gift bag

something green

What to do:

Choose three different things that are on the list and send to your partner by the deadline. They must be different - example: DO NOT send 3 bookmarks. This does not count. And no, a handmade bookmark DOES NOT count as 2 items. This is not a profile based swap.

Newbies welcomed, with a well filled out profile (I DO CHECK). No recent/unexplained low ratings.

Also ~ I live in "Boonyville", Michigan and sometimes our internet connection isn't very good. This is especially true when it rains & in the winter months. So please be patient, partners will get assigned and if needed I will extend the send date.

I am no longer able to angel swaps at this time.

hi im a newbie and was wondering is this swap open to people in the UK? thanks

destiney1 02/16/2014 #

so none of the stickers on the sheet can be small? or just not a whole sheet of like reward tiny stickers? i think most sticker sheets have a mix of tiny and big

TC 02/17/2014 #

@yummymummy13 , toward the top, you will see a header that says "Location: Regional - USA." That means people outside of the USA should not join the swap.

I have invited you to Newbie Helpers so you can better learn how to navigate the site. And you can join all the swaps in the group.

institches 02/19/2014 #

@destiney1 - correct

yomousey 02/19/2014 #

I just want to say that I am really in love with this swap. I have been sick since Christmas and my computer crashed so it's been hard to get online and check for swaps and info and to go out shopping. Having this swap makes it simple. I join and look for items in my stash, then check for my partner and find something for her or if I need/want to get something I only have to go shopping once or send my girls out. Thanks!

Debbyjean 02/19/2014 #

This is my first swap. I was introduced by a dear friend. However, I'm not sure if handmade envelopes means you decorate envelopes or do you actually make the envelope? :) The swap seems really fun!

Jerimi 02/19/2014 #

This swap looks like a blast! I can't wait. :)

keyscullar 02/21/2014 #

Mine is all ready! Just need a name. This is one of my favorite swaps. I love reading the profile of my swap partner and look for things I think she would love!

paperpanduh 02/21/2014 #

Where do we get a address at?

Gslady 02/21/2014 #

I know this is a silly question but what is note/memo paper ?

Kanamichelle 02/21/2014 #

This is my very first swap, and I am so excited, but have questions. First of all, do you send the items in a regular or decorated envelope for this one, or is it up to the sender? Secondly, in browsing the site I keep seeing the term "kawaii", and am assuming it is has nothing to do with Hawaii. Can someone tell me what that is? I will get up to speed quickly, I promise! Last question is, do we receive our contact through email?

institches 02/22/2014 #

@yomousey - that's why I do it!

@Debbyjean - both or either...just no sticker slapping!

@Jerimi - welcome!

@keyscullar - same here.

@paperpanduh - PMing you a note.

@Gslady - no Q is silly! That's how we learn. Note/memo paper is the pads you purchase in the store or online. Popular ones are Diddle, Hello Kitty, Sanrio, kawaii. Here's a link to some: http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/kawaii-notepad-with-hello-kitty-as-rabbit-with-hearts

@Kanamichelle - welcome to swap-bot! Up to sender how you send. kawaii - see above link. Pming you swap directions.

Kanamichelle 02/22/2014 #

Last question. I thought I signed up for this but my dashboard doesn't have it listed. Is there a way to make SURE I am signed up? I tried doing it on my Ipad so it might not have accepted it. Can you let me know, instiches? I just did another one and had to use my PC for it to accept it, so I might have to do that with yours too. Thanks! I just don't want to sign up twice.

Kanamichelle 02/22/2014 #

I am just going to try this again from my PC. I hope it doesn't sign me up twice, but it doesn't appear that I am signed up. Here goes...

paperpusher 02/23/2014 #

@Kanamichelle you are signed up :) You should be able to see the yellow box at the top right and can view participants there. If you can see the "join swap" option at the bottom of a swap description, then you are not signed up for that oarticular swap. If you're already signed up for a swap, swapbot won't sign you up multiple times, just once, so no worries about that.

teli 02/23/2014 #

Any size restrictions on the handmade envelopes?

LavenderTrends 02/24/2014 #

How do I know who to send my swap to? Yes I am new at this... Sorry.

bitsofwhimsy 02/27/2014 #

I really wish there were more US/Canada regional swaps..

Lizard 02/27/2014 #

@bitsofwhimsy there are HEAPS of US only swaps. Absolutely HEAPS of them. Sometimes I think Swapbot is starting to become for Americans only. :(

TC 02/27/2014 #

@bitsofwhimsy is in Canada, so the "heaps" of USA only swaps aren't of any use to her.

institches 02/27/2014 #

thanks for answering for me @paperpusher

@nailet - mailable ones, nothing tiny or contact your partner and see if they would like tiny ones.

@LavenderTrends - sending you a PM

Sorry @bitsofwhimsy and @Lizard I just can not afford to send out of the USA anymore. I missed a person in the UK and her partner couldn't send overseas either. So I sent to the UK. It cost me close to $3 to send an envelope that costs 49 cents in the states. For me, swapping is a fun thing, not something to put my family in debt. I wish I could do overseas still, it was fun getting "foreign" things.

There was an international version of this swap (someone asked me last fall if I'd mind and I said go ahead) Sorry, I can't remember the name. Just keep searching and hopefully it will come up for you. If not, then feel free to host your own. I remove about 5-8 people who are out of the USA each month, so there is an interest.

papergirl45 02/28/2014 #

These are fun! love these swaps:)

Julie1967 03/ 2/2014 #

How / when do we get addresses ?

SleepyEvilDemon 03/ 3/2014 #

@Julie1967 We'll get the addresses when the coordinator assigns our partners which should be sometime today. When they're assigned there will be another link in the yellow-y tan colored box at the top about seeing your swap partner. =]

moxsapphir 03/ 3/2014 #

Inchies, bookmark, postcard, ATC, stickers, notecard, foreign coin, surprise, cancelled stamps, recipe cards, and homemade item.

msrhetta 03/ 4/2014 #

Why haven't the partner's been assigned as of yet?

grimmlynn 03/ 4/2014 #

@msrhetta I imagine it is due to the large number of people who are signed up for the swap. I'm sure it will take a good amount of time to go through all the participants.

LavenderTrends 03/ 6/2014 #

How do I know who my partner is? I see where they are assigned. I must be missed it.

LavenderTrends 03/ 6/2014 #

never mind found it. :)
