This swap is fun & easy, and a great way to use up some of those bits 'n pieces of paper some of us just can't seem to throw away after projects. Take a piece of card stock (any color, any size) and randomly adhere all sorts of different papers to it, overlapping the edges as you go (your papers can be decorative, printed with words, plain, sparkly, etc.). The idea here is not to worry about planning – just have fun with random papers. After you have completed this step, turn the card stock over so you can't see the covered side. Draw and cut out a heart or several hearts. Turn them over and see how pretty they look with the collaged papers you chose. It's kind of like a surprise – you never know what you're going to get. Now, using the heart(s), you will make a card for your partner, to receive and enjoy. Please write a note to your partner on the inside of the card. Perhaps you will tell about how much fun you had making the card. A few card ideas are to attach your heart to another layer and cut that out in a heart shape too, and then adhere it to the front of a blank card. You could cut tiny slits all around the heart and wrap gold thread across it to give it some further pizzazz. I'm sure you will think of other creative ideas too. In my example above, I added self-adhesive rhinestones. This swap is sender's choice on colors/creativity. Have fun! |
