Description:

I absolutely love "art tags" and need to add some to my very sparse collection!

Let's make our partner a tag that we will be proud to send and happy to receive! I am not sure of sizes exactly, so I am just going to say for now no smaller than an ATC or larger than a 4'" by 6" photo. If anyone knows the official sizes and designations for the tags, please let me know?! I do know I mean something rectangular with a hole in the top for ribbons or yarn and, usually, "notched" top edges of some sort just so that it isn't a plain rectangle. Does that make sense? Oh! I often use my tags as bookmarks, so you could make a "long skinny" tag that was bookmark sized if you like! :)

The theme is sender's choice, but I would suggest keeping it "neutral" ie. no holidays or childlike (ie Disney characters) or scary/offensive (like skulls or the occult) that might upset our partners. Does that make sense? :)

Thanks and have fun!

I use ranger's tags when making mine. They come in many sizes, but are longer than they are wide. basically a rectangle with the two top corners cut off at an angle and a hole punched in the middle of the two cut off corners. Are these the type of art tags you are talking about making? Sorry if i sound dumb, but i want to be sure i am thinking of the correct thing to make before i join.

Absolutely! @dragonbait . You don't sound dumb at all, in fact I wonder if others weren't also confused and that is why they have not joined up? :) I should have been much clearer in my swap description.

Not a problem at all, I do not think you had a bad description, i just wanted to be clear. I have read confusing swaps before where I had no idea what in the world was seriously supposed to be sent. To my amazement, people were actually signed up for them! i often wonder how they rate each other.... sounds fun, i am joining.

Lol @dragonbait ! I know just the sort of swaps you are talking about! I will read them over a few times and then just throw up my hands! Someday I am going to be brave and ask a host what their swap is actually about! :D

Have taken part in a few tag swaps, and dragonbait is correct in her description. The most popular swaps I've been part of use the Ranger tags size 8cm x 15 cm. One can cut your own with the angled cut off corners and punched hole in the top. If you're going to string a ribbon through the hole it is advisable to re-inforce the hole as it's not all that sturdy. hope this helps.
