Description:

I made this a Type 3 swap because it will be time intensive considering it has a year-long commitment. The purpose of this swap is to assign prayer pals for 2014. It is the same idea as drawing names for Secret Sisters or Secret Pals, but this won't be a secret. You will have one partner to send to and she will be the person you remember in prayer the whole year. And, on the honor system you will make contact by snail mail and/or PM at least once a month during the year.

I'll set up a special Prayer Pal thread in the forum to post sent/received and comments after the 1st of the year. This will help us all remember to be praying and keeping contact.

The requirement for this swap (to get a 5 rating) will be to send one Happy New Year card (store bought or handmade) to one partner. You will also write 3 questions in the card or on a separate sheet of paper—more about that explained below.

Each person joining this swap must write one or more questions in the comments section that you think will help us to get to know our partner better. Once partners are assigned, read through her profile and look for answers to the questions proposed. Choose 3 questions remaining unanswered and write those in a card to send her, or on a separate piece of paper. You may ask other questions, too, but recipient only answers what she is comfortable sharing.

When your partner receives your card and questions she must rate a 5, and then respond in a PM or by snail mail within one week.

Summary: Commitment for this swap is 12 months, January 1, 2014, through December 31, 2014. Requirements for rating: Send one New Years card with 3 questions.

Requirements on your honor - Start praying as soon as partners are assigned and make contact by PM and/or snail mail at least once a month (12 times during 2014). Post sent and received as seems appropriate. You do not have to post every time you send something, but enough so I, the monitor, will know contact is being made by all.

This is the first time I've tried something like this and I pray the Lord will bless us.

Let me make sure I have this right about the questions. I'm supposed to post any one question here in the comments. Then after partners are assigned, I try to find the answers to ALL of the questions in her profile? And then I write in her NY card the ones that didn't get answered?

Sorry, I do have a hard time understanding sometimes! It usually takes me a little longer to "get" things.

Don't anyone get hung up on the question part. I just thought it would be fun for all of us to post possible questions, like a group think tank LOL
