Description:

This is a fun way to test your creativity in describing a the day you have had in a short, but descriptive way.

You will want a smaller size journal for this, either store bought or hand made is fine. Pocket size, Mini comp ect. are just fine. Make sure it has at least as many pages as there is in the month, so for November 30.

Every day will write one sentence describing your day. This could be something important/funny/scary that happened, a highlight of the day, etc. The challenge is to be descriptive in that one sentence. "Best day I've had this week!" is a huge cliffhanger! Please explain why the day was good.

Also please decorate the journal pages a little bit, it does not need to be all out huge decor, doodles, little collages, sketches, ect. are perfectly fine, even stickers ;o)

I will Angel this swap if I need too.

I just want to say that I'm really looking forward to this swap! I haven't participated in many journal swaps in the past - I did a couple of private swaps for diet/weight loss journals, but that's it as far as "written" journals are concerned. I think this will be a great way to see if I like doing them - and a great way to kind of "force" me to reflect on my day each night.

I picked up a cute little spiral pad with 50 sheets for $1.00 at Dollar General yesterday. It's round and each page is printed with a cute flower. I have all the pages decorated with stickers and I think today I'm going to go through and "date" all the pages so I am ready to go when Nov. 1st gets here!

For all of you who are just watching for now - I think this is going to be an AWESOME swap!

Could it also be a random thought you had on that day (just wanted to clarify before we start)

Are we going to be decorating a page in someone else's journal is that how this is going to work? We receive someone else's journal each day and we write in it then pass it on.. otherwise how is this a swap?

Ladybird2490 10/22/2013 #

Hello injuredretired

You will write in a journal for the month of November each day and decorate the pages than at the end of the month you will post it to your partner and receive one in return from your partner.

Does that make sense now?

Katie

We are swapping completed journals. Hope this helps.

MyHeartBelongsToSnailMail 10/23/2013 #

After we write our sentence for the day can we put an explanation? Example: Life is short, don't take anything or anyone for granted. Then for my explanation it would be something like: Today my dad was admited into the ICU. He's only 55 and I'm far from ready to lose him. Basically is it okay to write more than a sentence in order to explain that sentence? I hope this question wasn't too confusing, I've already taken my bed time meds =)

@Ladybird2490 Yes it can be a random thought you had from the day as long as it is one sentence :) run on sentences allowed in some instances (I am guilty of that one lol)

@injuredretired We are indeed swapping completed journals @LauraAust & @Ladybird2490 said not a round robin :). You will right your sentence for every day of the month of Nov. decorate the pages as you like (sticker slapping is allowed for this one because it is about the writing)

@MyhearteblongsTosnailmail not to confusing at all, but nope not extra sentences are explanations allowed for this one. The challenge is to try to get across as much about your day as possible in one sentence. Obviously it won't give the full days details but I think that is what makes it such a fun challenge with this journal. :)

MyHeartBelongsToSnailMail 10/23/2013 #

Oh good, either way I'm in, its going to be a big challenge for me because of how long winded I am =) I'm already decorating my journal.

MyHeartBelongsToSnailMail 10/24/2013 #

I'm SO excited that I've been decorating my journal since the moment I signed up. I'm really looking forward to this swap! Also, I'm going to go ahead and make at least one extra, so in the event that you need an angel let me know! I'm always happy to help!

Pashanista 10/24/2013 #

Aww thank you @MyHeartBelongsToSnailMail I hope I won't need the extra but I do plan on making this one in Dec as well so you will be ahead of the game ;) I also have a stack of extras in my stash, lol

injuredretired 10/25/2013 #

Now it makes since to me.. Thanks for explaining it to me I do suffer from "Fibro Fog" at times so sometimes I have to ask more questions.

seweclectic 10/25/2013 #

This is going to be hard. I often feel the need to explain myself so I'll have to fight that urge lol excited :)

tanikasjourney 10/26/2013 #

Is this swap for US as well.

user2637 10/27/2013 #

@tanikasjournay - "International" includes the US, yes. :)
