Description:

Do you remember reading the book Flat Stanley ?

Did you ever want to receive a Flat Stanley?

If so, then this swap is for you!

For this swap, you will send 1 partner a printed out copy of Flat Stanley. The rules of the swap are:

You must print out a copy of Flat Stanley from online or trace a shape of a boy shape or gingerbread man shape & color or decorate it using any type of medium. (magazine cut outs, paint, crayons, markers, pencils, etc.)

Please limit the size of Flat Stanley to fit in a standard size envelope to help keep the cost of postage down. In other words, no tiny Flat Stanley but no giant Flat Stanley either. Do not send Flat Stanley as a package! This is meant to be a flat mail swap!

Show me what you think Flat Stanley looks like! Your own version, so be creative!

Then you will write a little note explaining where your Flat Stanley is from. (Your city, town, etc. because that is where he originated/was created from)

In your note, please tell me a few things about your city that you think would be great places for Flat Stanley to see. You can talk about monuments, museums, restaurants, etc. You know, famous or tourists destinations in your town.

If you do not have any places in your town, then pick the next closest town to you. If you have a great store you like to shop at, include that if you want. Anything goes really!

Please fold your note & Flat Stanley up & mail them to your swap partner via snail mail. That's it!

Any questions, concerns or comments, please let me know & Happy Swapping!

I just finished reading this book last week to my 5 1/2 year old grand son. I've always enjoyed the idea of Flat Stanley making his way around the world. I participated in one swap a few years ago where we made our Flat Stanley's look like ourselves and then our swap partner took our flat selves to local spots and took a picture of it touring the town. I took my partner's flat person to the Sea Lion caves and scenic overlooks along the Oregon Coast. I think I'll make an extra "Stanley" or maybe "Grandma" and send him to my grandson. It will be interesting to hear of his reaction!

@Starwatcher thank you for sharing that! I love it! I originally wanted to take photos but I thought that would be a bit much for the swap cost. Maybe I will do that for another Flat Stanley swap.
