Every Day Matters: Sketch/Draw Postcard Swap

I love this artist: www.dannygregory.com/category/journals . Every Day Matters is an illustrated journal he began after his wife suffered a terrible injury resulting in paralysis. They were young, had a baby and life pivoted. He began to sketch. First he drew everything he could see within the confines of the hospital room, then they were able to return home and he drew many things within; his son's favorite stuffed animal, medicine bottles, etc. It was a release and a bit of a meditation for him. Eventually, life led them back outside to the streets and views of NYC. His journal is full of beautiful, engaging drawings and traces the healing that took place over those many, many months.

When I teach art, I often have students refer to this site for homework-- just draw something every day. Don't think about an audience, or listen to that nasty critic that lives inside us all. Just pick something, start somewhere, and draw it. Add ink, add color if you want. Go ahead, add words if you want.

This is an international original art postcard swap- a minimum 4X6 inch size work of original art, hand drawn. Medium may be ink, graphite,colored pencils, pastels, paint-- I think you get the picture.
