Description:

Write a letter introducing yourself and your slash preferences to two group members. You may handwrite or type the letters. You may include images (but do write something and not include only tons of big images). The letters should be at least two pages long (or one page front and back) though you may write more if you wish.

Here are some topics you may want to address:

  • What is it about slash that appeals to you?
  • Do you write or only read slash?
  • How did you come to learn about slash?
  • What are your fandoms and favorite pairings?
  • Do you move from one fandom/pairing to another or do you collect/accumulate?
  • Do you have an OTP? OT3?
  • What genres are your favorites?
  • What's the most obscure pairing you've encountered or written?
  • Have you participated in any fests, memes, big bangs, etc.?
  • Fanfic, fanart, fanvids, fanmixes--what floats your boat?
  • Do you enjoy gen and het as well, or just slash?
  • Is there a pairing you like that surprised you?
  • Is there a pairing you used to like but don't any more?
  • Do you read commercially published yaoi, gay romances/erotica or just stick to fanfiction?

These questions are just to get you thinking. Answer them all or just a few of them. Use them as a jumping off point and write about other things. As long as it's about slash, you're set.

Feel free to share links to archives or journals if you want to give examples of your favorites or of what you've created. We'll definitely do some fanfic writing and rec sharing in future swaps, but you can certainly share a little here if you want to. This is just a big overview so we can share and learn a bit about what brings us all here.
