My grandmother used to do this edging on a piece of flannel and use them for a baby blanket. I know because my first and second sons received a couple apiece. So this edging technique is very good for a lot of stuff! Let's try this scarf. Sender's choice on colors! Thanks again bennysmomma! She is a good finder!

I'd like to join but I can't crochet either. Can I make a patchwork scarf with a different detail?

I think the blanket stitch is the detail Really! Feel free though to tweak away. BTW I don't crochet well at all. It's that stitch count that ALWAYS throw me! Just stay on this tute for the scarf basic! Please!

I was going to ask if I could do a different edge, but seeing the comment above, I guess I don't need to :) I love tweaking patterns, gives the finished item a bit of individuality and uniqueness
