I already got answers to my message and have a few who are interested so here it is. Thought it might be fun to do something a little different this month. I received some beautiful stickers from a swapper in Australia of Indigenous art from her country. They were so beautiful and then I googled it and found even more. Lets try it. ATC size 1 swapper - 1 ATC (more if you like) International as expense is about $1.10 to send to Canada and overseas. Hopefully you are getting a nice range of art for a collection in our group. I certainly am. You can start this anytime so you will be ready to send by send date. Questions just comment below or PM me. Someone always is ready to give you an answer. This is a group so I always keep checking your ratings for exceptions to a 5.0. I will ban if you are under that,if it is a 1, and with no good reason. . A lot of effort goes into this kind of swap so I will either get someone to angel it or I will. Don't need disappointments. Please do not compare your art work that you send to the art work you get. This is not school rated, just fun to try and enjoy others.

That looks like it is mostly Australian aboriginal art, I didn't read the swap that way, but maybe it is the intention! I was thinking that other indigenous art like navaho, Hmong indigenous art, or even [molas](indigenous art mola) would be OK. oh @ladydy5

Cave dwellers did art on caves, aboriginal art is very colorful. Lady has it down pat, thank you.

Make sure you note to your swapper the kind of art you are doing.

There are boatloads of regional "folk art" styles -- Norwegian rosemaling, Dutch Hindeloopen; Russian; PennDutch -- just to name a few. Do these count as "indigenous art"?

@ lv2paint I would describe those as more TRADITIONAL or PEASANT FOLK ART as the occupants are not indigenous per se, coming from many other parts of Europe & settling, though i might be jumped on here . Indigenous art technically belongs to those described as Aboriginal, eg, Maori, Native American Indian, Inuit, Inca, Pure blood lines of remote or isolated communities. I am one incidentally Chiriqui from Central America. Hope that helps, jane

I love the idea, however the need for me is to not have something that has the cultures spiritistic worship.

That would then mean I tell the artist what to draw. And that would not be fair per swaps requirements.

Friends, this not brain surgery. I am sure your swapper will enjoy your idea of indigenous art. To me, I will do aboriginal type. If you want to do Peasant Folk Art, then fine.

My apologies to @lv2paint i happen to love folk art, and would be delighted to recieve a lovely rendition from my partner if that is their penchant. I expect others aren't as pedantic as myself. Thank you for saying all art is welcome, @ladydy5 of course it is and is greatly appreciated, some of us take the titles literally & have to open our minds a bit.
