This is a lovely one. But I don't live in de USA :(

marge 07/ 3/2013 #

ohh why not international :)

deskitty 07/ 9/2013 #

Just to keep shipping costs down but if there is enough interest I will host an international

Ginger4520 07/19/2013 #

Would love an international round

kaylashaye 07/19/2013 #

do you have a round about on how much shipping would be for this? would I need to put it in a small flat rate box or how exactly would you recommend shipping it? sorry, If this is a dumb question.

deskitty 07/19/2013 #

Not dumb at all :-) shipping will be around $5 I think. A flat rate box would be a great idea because you can stuff is as full as you like :-).

International version

takehimaway 07/19/2013 #

A flat rate envelope is cheaper, right? Not to mention, bigger.

takehimaway 07/19/2013 #

But in reality, I don't think anything is gonna be too heavy to send first class which at it's highest price is $3.25...

marchy 07/19/2013 #

I'm also interested, and I'm not from the US either. Plz plz international? :)

smadronia 07/20/2013 #

Generally I take squishy swaps, cover them with brown paper, tape the ends up nice, and ship. Most of my swaps got for under $4 that way.

kawaiigirl1 07/20/2013 #

Can it be kawaii stationary? Please respond

takehimaway 07/21/2013 #

The mailman has told not to wrap stuff in brown paper, due it being able to rip, so now I just use all the brown paper I have for wrapping.

So fed up with all the America only swaps. Most of the swaps are like that now. Why do Americans think they are the only ones in the world who like to swap?

MyHeartBelongsToSnailMail 07/22/2013 #

Oh @Lizard that was a bit harsh. I can't speak for all Americans, or even for all of the Americans on Swap-bot, but I can speak for myself. I'm very aware that Americans aren't the only people who enjoy swapping. However, there are more international swaps than just USA only, but also, you're always welcome to host your own international swaps. Typically when a host has a USA only swap it is simply to keep down on shipping costs. If I could afford it, I would ALWAYS.swap internationally because I would MUCH rather receive things from other countries than my own. I am sorry that you're frustrated with the USA only swaps, but don't take it personally. Happy Swapping =)

deskitty 07/22/2013 #

@takehimaway @Lizard @marchy I am also hosting an international version also. I try to host both USA & International versions of my swaps. If you look in the description it contains a link to the other.

@myheartbelongstosnailmail Thank you!

@kawaiigirl it can be anything you want

BongoBeats 07/23/2013 #

Was the signup date extended on this? I thought July 23 was the last day to signup, not it indicates July 25.

PVMcHugh 07/24/2013 #

Great idea! I would love to make my partner a pencil bag. I have tons of fabric to use up! I have pictures of my past sewing projects on my Instagram (link in my profile). Happy swapping!

chelle523 07/24/2013 #

@Lizard - I don't think people are trying to be exclusive. Most of us would LOVE to get things from other countries. But postage costs are often prohibitive and many people won't join if they think that postage is going to cost a fortune. In most cases, owners of US swaps will let you open international versions of their swaps if you want - just ask.

deskitty 07/24/2013 #

I had several PM's asking me to extend it so people could clear their dashboards a little so I extended it 2 days. I hope this doesn't inconvenience anyone.

MiniQuilt 07/29/2013 #

I received my PENCIL BAG today, July 29. I see the name as Yvonne, and the words "peaseand love". I see a note from the leader saying something about an error. :-) Lots of goodies: pencil with fall leaves, little tablet, postcards, 3D sticker page, and a little note. Yes, I received the pencil bag. From MiniQuilt
