Duct-Tape Envie with a Surprise

Hi Sisters!

I had previously hosted this swap out in swaplandia and our dear Kerri asked me to host it here so we could all put our craptastic spin on it ;+)

Requirements:

• 2 partners

• 1 handmade duct-tape envie to each partner

• created envie must measure 4" x 5" but can be larger

• must use DUCT TAPE and not deco or washi tape

• include a small flat surprise inside for your partners

• mail the actual duct-tape envie--don't send it in another plain one

Here is the way I created my envies and it worked pretty well. I used a piece of printer paper and affixed the duct tape to the paper FIRST (in strips) before creating the envie. This way you're not messing around with sticky stuff--it's like working with paper again. Now it's time to fold the paper (with duct tape on it) into an envie shape. Instead of creating a "regular" envelope with trimming and flaps, I bound the edges with a contrasting piece of duct tape--that way there's no need for glue and the contrasting tape looks neat too!

Since the main part of the swap is the duct-tape envie, the surprise is sender's choice--I've gotten some neat things I would never thought to put on my profile. That said, please check your partner's profile for dislikes. Send something flat and inexpensive and, as always, craptastic!
