So I was looking at things people have sent through the mail successfully when I happened upon a fun blog post! It was of a woman who mailed someone an apron, using an empty 2L coke bottle (plastic of course) I thought this was such a fun idea that I would set up a swap for it! If anyone else has started a swap like this, I apologize for stepping on your toes.. : ) The inside of the bottle is sender's choice, but try to look at your partner's profile for their likes/dislikes. You might also want to make sure that whatever you send is cushioned well (see example) and/or light so it doesn't cost too much in postage. A good set of instructions with pictures Rating Requirements: 4.95 No newbies, no ones and no more than 2 threes in ANY past rating. You also need at least 5 Type 3 ratings. This is a bigger project, that I would like to not have to angel on. I am also making this regional US only due to posting and the size/shape of the package.

Can you use any type of bottle (pill, perfume, beauty product, etc...?)

I'm going to say that the bottle/container needs to be the size of your hand or bigger so perfume/pill bottle might be too small. We want it to make a bit of a statement when it goes through the mail! : D

I had no idea soda bottles were shippable! This is such a cool idea! I already know what bottle to use...Mountain Dew(i'll have no problem drinking the soda to get an empty bottle:) Yes, I think it will turn a few heads at the post office. lol

I think that as long as it isn't glass or anything hazardous you can send it. I know people have sent frisbees and stuff before with no packaging. This is just similar in the sense that the package is the odd thing. : D

Oo! Colored bottles would be pretty! And if they were still functional after shipping that would be fun too.

The post mistress looked at me and said, "Have you done this before?" "Yes." "Did it go through okay?" "Yep!" "Okay, do you have anything liquid...?" At which point, I busted up laughing! LOL!!

I had no problems either. I usually go to the small post office in town and when I gave her the bottle, she commented that it was such a cute idea. :)

The post office lady really liked how I did mine. She said she has been meaning to make one for her granddaughter, so I gave her some tips:) I ended up using a 2.5liter soda bottle from the dollar store because it was thicker plastic and the bigger circumference allowed me to maneuver bigger items in there better! I loved doing this swap and I'm hoping it can be done again:)
