Description:

You've heard of sticker bags and label bags, let's try ATC bags!

If you already have an established one to pass along from the other swaps, that's great! If not, here's how to start one:

Take a small envie and write your name and address on one side of it. On the other side, write instructions such as "take out two ATCs and add three". You can choose to have the person take or add as many as you wish.

Have numbered lines for persons who have participated to sign on. You can choose how many lines you want to offer, just make sure your bag is large enough to hold that many ATCs when full.

Indicate that the last person to sign should send it home. You can include any other instructions, such as whether or not the ATCs should be made by the swapper or if you accept pass alongs.

Put your three (or however many you indicated) ATCs inside the envie. I usually start a new bag with a few extras to give the first recipient more from which to choose. This is your ATC bag.

Put the ATC bag (envie) inside another envie to mail to your swap partner.

You will receive a bag from your other partner. You will select ATCs to keep, and add additional ones to the bag. Hold onto the bag until another swap opportunity. Then you will send it along its way.

If someone has a bag that starts with 5 ATC's and says take out 1 and asks people to add 5...... people could ask for ANYTHING...... that is leaving it open for others to be 'ripped off'.

Just saying..........

@danushaj It's the maker's prerogative to have the bag rules however they wish. Most people say something like "take two ATCs and add three". We've been doing these for some time now, and I haven't heard of any problems.

Thank you for putting a link for mine! I appreciate it.

so is it strictly for your own ATC or I can put in ATC by somebody else? please respond

Darida 02/24/2013 #

ok, I am not following...... please help...... below are my thoughts...

1) if i say take 2 add 3 and have 4 lines for people to participate so in the end I will end up with 4 extra ATC? right....

2) what is the motivation for the person #2 participate if she will be sending more than receiving,

3)I am not sure if my envelope will come back to me.. so how to find who is person N4 ?

4) it is fun to be person n4, since she will have 7 atc to choose from...

@Darida each maker of a bag decides if they want you to include only ones you made or others. These types of bags circulate all the time...sticker bag, stamp bags, goodie bags. The motivation to participate is fun and karma. You may be putting in more than you are taking out, but ou can replace three that don't fit in your collection with two that do. Also, most likely, you have created a bag yourself, so you know that others are doing the same for your bag somewhere else in the world. It's true that you don't know who has your bag at any given time and that it may take a long time to return to you...or maybe not at all. That's just a risk swappers of these items take. Sometimes the fun is more in the process than the outcome.
