Description:

I did this swap before and it went really well, so here we are again :)

Do you have a subscription to one of those beauty boxes like birchbox, Julep, Glossybox or any other box with a similar system? Than you know, that it will happen and you dislike one or the other product that's in the box. For example: if you don't use lipgloss, but you received one in a box, now it's time to put it in this swap!

You put 5 or 6 beauty items (all unused, not swatched, what so ever) in a nice box (you can use one you got in a subscription but you can also use a really nice other box), gift wrap everything and put it in a bigger box to mail it of.

One of those items has to be a full-sized item! If some of the items have a print on them, thats not in English, please write a card that explains what to do with the item.

If you don't have a subscription to a service like that, you can still join. Just use a nice store-bought box and fill it with beauty goodies like lipstick, eyeshadow, shampoo, body butter, hand lotion and so on.

EDIT: It is O.K. to send a handmade box if you ask your partner.

No flakers please! Please have at least a 4.95 rating and no unexplained 3 or 1. I will review profiles and try to make sure I eliminate possible flakers!

can box be handmade?

hoershey 02/ 5/2013 #

@Worknesh I'm sorry, but this time no handmade boxes!

lilrawker 02/ 7/2013 #

Looking forward to this swap. Really liked it last time! But I do wish we could make a nice handmade box... I don't have a subscription and last time I was not able to find a flat enough gift box. You see, in my country it costs way more money to mail something if it's thicker than 3cm (just over an inch). Last time I made a pretty gift bag and included an extra item to make up for the missing box, my partner liked it. And the swap I received didn't have an extra box (just the plain box it was mailed in) but I liked it anyways, cause my partner had filled it with pretty tissue paper. So...could we just go for those options if our partner is ok with it? We could check with our partner before mailing anything out ofcourse. I will have to drop out if we can't, cause it would be a 20 dollar difference in mailing costs.

@lilrawker and @Worknesh Of course, when you put it like that, I understand. Alright then, it's ok to send handmade as long as you ask your partner before shipping and if she is o.k. with it!

Ok tnx :)

I don't have a subscription so I was wondering is there a certain amount of items or a price limit to go by?

hoershey 02/ 9/2013 #

@AlaskanBeauty Yes, like I said in the text above, you should put 5 or 6 items in the box, one of them HAS TO BE a full size product. The other one can be samples, but only big samples, like 1 oz. face lotion or 2 oz. body cream or a travel size mascara and so on. But I guess, your partner will be happy to receive as many full size products as you can get. There is not price limit, because Beauty items are so different in price all over the world. Just be as nice and generous as your wallet allows you to be :)

I think that it would be great if we could mention type of hair, skin, allergies here. You know, I would be glad if the items I sent could be used(they would fit to the partner) and it would be a pity if I would be allergic to some cosmetics. so..

my lips are dry skin is sensitive(dry but my pores on my nose and chin are black o_O and forehead is always shiny) my hair are curly, brown, head skin is sensitive. my body is not that sensitive, but I buy items for sensitive skin because I have pimples on my back and chestand I get rashes out of nowhere easily, my feet are ultra ugly(dry and the skin is ugly) and I wear contacs and glasses :D I like fresh scents, not too sweet and agressive.

Please please mention all the preferences :) Even the scents you don't like.

hoershey 02/12/2013 #

@Worknesh Sure, it is nice, when your partner can consider your preferences, but this swap is still sender's choice. It is about passing on those products you received and don't need, so someone else can try them out. I always try to match the products to the receivers profile if I have the chance to. I just hope you'll get a partner who has just products like that lying around for you! :)

lilrawker 02/13/2013 #

I like that it's senders choice :) It helps to pass on the items I got which I don't use, and I receive items I would never think to buy which end up being awesome. And if you get things you don't like...you can swap them the next time :)

Worknesh 02/16/2013 #

Well, okay then :D I am looking forward to this swap. I am just afraid that someone has some serious allergies and it can be dangerous for them.
