Description:

Wouldn't it be great to send a postcard and see where it had been all around the world? Then get it returned back to you after its adventures were over? Let's do it!

IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST ROUND:

Choose a card. A card that you think people would enjoy seeing (the bigger, the better). Put your name and address on the right hand side of the card. Put the title of the swap (Adventures of the Traveling Postcard) at the top of the left hand side. PUT IT IN AN ENVELOPE and send it off to your partner. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

IF YOU PARTICIPATED IN THE PREVIOUS ROUND(S):

Write your name, username, city, state/country, on the left hand side of the postcard you received in the previous round. Put it in an envelope and send it to your partner!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Every month, we will have another round. When the left side of the postcard is filled up with the names and cities of those that have received the postcard, the last person will stamp your actual postcard and send it back to you.
Only join if you are awesome and a non-flaker. Well-established folks ONLY and I will ban if I feel that you may be a questionable swapper. I want to do my best to ensure that everyone receives their postcard back! So don't join if you don't think you can commit to it for the long haul, K? I will be checking EVERYONE'S profile. Additionally, if you haven't logged in in over a week, I will be forced to ban you, as well. Thanks and happy swapping!
I'd like to take a poll. Obviously, people are getting their postcards at different times. Would you prefer that we continue doing this once a month, or would you prefer to do two rounds per month and just join in on the next round when you do get your postcards?
I don't object to once a month, or squeeze in 3 every 2 months.
I would though, think it might be better to put these swaps up in advance, so people have a little more time to sign up,especially during holidays. That way you don't get to your computer the day after the swap starts and find out you're too late.
I like two rounds a month or once a month. And yes, people can just sign up for another round when their postcard arrives since international cards can take longer. I like how you have emailed us to let us know the new swap is up and ready for sign-ups. I wouldn't change a thing. :)
I agree 100% with KalkaKC.. It's a great help that you advise us the next round is up. Happy New Year (2013) everyone!
You cannot join this swap if it not possible to swap during the whole year.........is not it? You have be home "always". It looks interesting to me, but not for the whole year, I have to choose myself, is that okay?
AnnieMaxine 12/31/2012 #
The swaps normally will be listed in advance. Unfortunately, with the holidays, it was a busy time...and it kind of got listed at the last minute and that's my fault. Hopefully, with the email list that I have, that helped those that don't get on here everyday.
Yes, to be fair, we have to TRY to keep swapping in this swap until at least your postcard returns to you. That's the only way to keep postcards moving!
I'm glad to hear that we'll get more notice on the other swaps, I was worried that I wouldn't get enough time sometimes.
I usually have to deal with international postage time frame.. the normal time frame for me to receive a mail is around 3 weeks.. and it sometimes can take up to 4 weeks.. and december has lots of public holidays.. ;( which can make things late a bit.. and I still haven't receive the postcard yet.. so it seems that I have to skip this round.. I think I prefer every two weeks.. so I can keep it going the next round instead of waiting a month..
Thanks for the update Hana...and I think I will start doing every two weeks, as this seems to be the consensus. I will list the new round a day or two after the "send by" date and will send out an email at that time as well.
This really sounds like fun. My first time for this swap so whatever you decide is good with me. Thanks. Looking forward to this. What a nice idea!!
