Big fat filled envelope..

Hi What are the dimensions for an A4 envelope in centimetres or in inches?

You can take items you have in your home or bue as long as the envelope is fat and big.

Who doesnt have tons of bits and pieces of this and that around the house. This sounds interesting. I'm looking forward to this swap.

wow this sounds really awesome and we can put in what ever we want. for Example a Keyring, Frigde magnets, any other crafts or household items? anything that fits in a A4 envelope? Let me know pls ;D Thanks

Calender, used and unused postcards, note cards, note books, photos, slides, letter sets, stamps, ribbon, stickers, all you named, @darkxangel84 chap lip, fabric, and the list can go on and on.

As for size of envelope. I have seen it to be 4 1/2 inches by 6 1/2 inches. This seems a bit different. than the size @inthewild has given. I found the information that seems to be, the A4 envelope the host and #inthewild speaks of and is required are the ones that a sheet of A4 paper can go in unfolded.

So for us that use inches we need the envelope to be 11.7 inches x 8.3 inches. Which is much larger than the American A4 envelope, so be careful and make sure the envelope is not the greeting card size but it can hold a sheet of paper without folding it.

And it really does not take a lot to fill it. Just a lot of thinking and looking and hunting and stuffing.

is there a different A4 size in the US then @fawnscrafts ? this is gonna be so much fun ;D

Okay, so Seattle is silly and finding an 11.7 x 8.3 is pretty much impossible (like finding a unicorn) :( . I found a 12 x 9 is that alright?

fawnscrafts, yes you are right about the USA measure in inches of the A4 size envelope - it is 8.3 X 11.7 inches. Basically I see it as the envelope that fits an 8 1/2" X 11 1/2" sheet of paper - flat, not folded, a document-size envelope.
For this swap, since it is to be a "big fat envie filled with stuff" I would use a bubble wrap envelope that is A4 size to protect all the stuff I was sending.

As I understand it, A4 equates to 8.5 x 11" for the US but here in Australia our A4 measures slightly different at 21cm (just over 8.25") x 29.7cm (11-11/8")

Some good points raised regarding postage cost if sending international.....will keep watching for the moment.

I know it's your swap. It isn't a bad idea for a swap, it actually sounds like fun. I'm trying to warn some of the 53 people signed up for this swap to be careful and at least consider the cost of sending this swap. You have a great rating and that is good. However by not setting a rating requirement you are opening the door to a lot of past flakers and potential new flakers. This time of year they seem to be everywhere trying to get a package of free stuff. I hope you are planning on screening everyone and weeding out some of the lowest ratings and people with late swaps on their dashboards. Hosting is a big responsibility! I wish you luck.

International postage is okay by me - and I am on a disability pension! - because I know that someone else will be paying that to post exciting envelope to me too.

Yes BUT I banned some people with no ratings because some of the swappers was afraid to get flaked on when there is a big swap.. Sorry but thats how it's gona be. If people don't like me changing the rules it's sad..

I have to agree with the host. She sets the rules. I know my limits and cannot join because of postal costs. But many others can join and it should be a fun swap for you all.

a4 is the size of the paper you use to print stuff (the size most used for copy machines for example), i think thats the easiest way to measure!

I bought my envelope this morning while I was posting for other swaps. I bought a 'tough envelope' to be on the safe side. Now I just need to wait to see who my partner is so I can see what they would like. ^.^ I just have to be really careful now, to make sure I have enough money to post it, because my next pension day isn't until the 11th and I am NO flaker!

so what is the correct measurements for this envelope, cause I have a A4 one and it measures - just over 12" x 9" it fits a piece of A4 paper in, so I guess this is fine? please let me know Thanks.

I'm using a padded/bubble wrap envie. I already have some things ready to go but wang to personalize the rest - I can't wait for the swap to close later/tomorrow so I can finish and mail!!

When are partners going to be assigned? It is now the 5th in Australia, so it has to be the 4th in America and last day to sign was the 3rd. We only have till the 10th to post it and this swap is already showing the not sent button.

I posted a large ephemeral paper envie just over a week ago and it was over $17, so I know this one will be more than that. I'll be posting it today.

Cost me nearly £10.00 which is around $16.00

I just posted mine this morning! Hopefully my partner will enjoy it haha. Also it's the 11th in Australia today but still the 10th in the US! Just in case my partner was wondering why it was marked 11th not 10th!
