Description:

If you were in previous swaps its time to move the journals along.

If this is the first time you're joining this swap you will need a composition journal and your imagination.

What you do is put your Swap-Bot ID and the swap name on the front of the journal. On the back page put your address to send home for when the journal is full. You can decorate if you feel like it.

Next you give your partner a writing prompt or story starter (just an idea it doesn't have to meet any criteria unless the owner of the journal gave directions or you set any for your journal) of any kind. Package up the journal and then wait for partners to be assigned. Once assigned, send them off.

When you get your journal, use the writing prompt to write a short story. Anywhere from 2-10 pages. It may be a little more or less, but give some life to the story, but don't take forever.

Here are a few links to writing prompts here here here here and here Thank you Hollydays for the links. Hope they help everyone!

After you finish your story, go to the next clean page and give a new writing prompt for your next partner. I'll do more of these swaps so everyone can have a little story book sent home to them.

Requirments: Newbies allowed with a well filled out profile. 4.9 rating. No unexplained 1s or 3s in the past 6 months. I might be able to angel, but I really hope I don't have to.

Any questions/suggestions, just ask. Happy Swapping.

Well I finished my story today I can hardly wait to send it out and get my new one. This is one of the best swaps.

Apelser 10/28/2012 #

This sounds like a lot of fun - it is a pity I missed the previous 2.

Hollydays 10/29/2012 #

Apelser don't worry about missing the previous ones this is a long swap join in on the fun. It is a great swap I have really enjoyed this one and the Once Upon A Time swap.

deviousdomi 10/29/2012 #

Yes, please join! Just start a new journal and send it off! I hope to keep these going for a very long time! :)

Apelser 10/31/2012 #

I'm in. How thick must the composition book be?

deviousdomi 11/ 1/2012 #

They are usually about 100 sheets. You can get them at Wal-mart or the dollar store for really cheap.

TheCrimsonTide 11/ 1/2012 #

This sounds like the coolest thing ever, I will go but a book tomorrow. If I need to fill out my profile more could someone give me a few suggestions to put on it?

Apelser 11/ 2/2012 #

Unfortunately South Africa doesn't have a Wal-mart or dollar store but I'll go and have a look at the book shops. I know you get very lovely books there.

deviousdomi 11/ 2/2012 #

@TheCrimsonTide Just put your likes, dislikes, about you, etc.

@Apelser any journal with pleanty of pages will work. :)

Hollydays 11/ 2/2012 #

Aperser I hope you get the journal. Our post office told me anything going to Africa was mostly not going to get there same with South America. I just don't want you disappointed.

Hollydays 11/ 2/2012 #

I mean Apelser sorry about that

Apelser 11/ 4/2012 #

@Hollydays - I don't really know why your post office said that anything going to Africa isn't going to get here. I have international penpals and I have sent some of them packages and they have sent to me, which I got fine. So far, I have received all other swaps, so I'm not exactly sure what your post office meant.

Hollydays 11/ 4/2012 #

Maybe South Africa is different than other countries in Africa. I know that I have had packages stolen which is common in some countries. I now have learned that regestered mail to some countries is more of a sure way of them getting there. It's sad but it does happen. I'm glad to know I can add South Africa to my list of safe counties.

Apelser 11/ 6/2012 #

When I send something "bulky" I prefer to send it with a tracking number so that I can always find out where exactly the package is. Yes, unfortunately there are some people that have long fingers that cannot leave other peoples' post alone, like the little boy across the road from us. That is why I am glad to have my letter and stuff delivered to a Postbox.

Nastee 11/12/2012 #

hello i just received my journal from short story journal 2 because of hurricane Sandy. i will be joining this one as well.

Apelser 11/13/2012 #

My journal is ready and just waiting to be sent.

aipoopyhead 11/15/2012 #

Hello! I'd like to join, but I just want to make sure. I only have to write the short story when my swap partner's journal arrives right? So I don't have to write in my own journal?

deviousdomi 11/23/2012 #

Sorry I've been so busy. I will set the send date back a few days.
