Description:

For this swap you will have 4 partners and to those partners you will send 3 unwritten postcards in an envelope. So that's 4 partners x 3 postcards = 12 postcards in all. This is a great way to build your postcard stash (which I am always trying to do).

As far as types of postcards to send, please send a mix. My experience with touristy postcards is people either love them and collect them or they are the last thing they want. So....let's keep touristy postcards to 1 of the 3 sent to each partner.

I'm hoping lots of international folks join in the fun here!

You must have been rated for 10 Type2/Type 3 swaps and have a rating of at least 4.85 to participate in this swap. You must also have been an active swapper within the last month and have signed in very recently when partners are assigned. I will angel this if necessary, but I know it won't be!

What do you class as touristy?

I am just wondering where folks here that swap alot of postcards find their cards that are not "touristy"??? I would love to find a source where I can buy postcards with cute pictures, funny pics, inspirational sayings, poems, etc. All I have available around where I live are touristy type cards with the acception of 2 funny cards. Is there a place anyone knows of besides Zazzle where I could order cards online at a reasonable cost?

@bettflow09 - Amazon stocks a ton of them. They usually come in 100 (as in a box) or 30-40 (as in a book) based on a theme (Pixar art, Penguin book covers etc) and piece per piece is quite low.

Etsy is a good place too. They're not as cheap as buying them off the rack in a gift shop. but you find interesting ones.

I think of "touristy" postcards as being the type you buy that have the location/place written across the front--the ones that label a state or a place. There are lots of pretty postcards (that I like) of places, but for me, that scrawling across the front really ruins the image on the card. I get TONS through amazon. Here's a great way to search. Go to the Advanced Search in books: type in "postcards" in the keyword slot and, under Publisher, type one of these: Pomegranate, Prestel, Chronicle, Tabori & Chang, Running Press, Browntrout, Sierra Club, or any other greeting card/postcard publisher. To scroll through ALL the postcard listings would take a lifetime--this is quicker!
