Why a piece of wood? I'm in Chicago and we had the Asian Long Horn Beetle devastate our trees. Bugs and eggs were in wood shipping crates. No way I want a piece of wood from anywhere abroad. You cannot bring firewood to camp ground or across the boarder to Indiana, Michigan because they don't want Asian Long Horn Beetles either. ;_;

^Same question. To many countries you are not allowed to send wood. And what would be "Home made wood"?

Chipboard perhaps, rather than wood. Homemade wood can be made with textures, inks and mediums. I am sure the "wood" is not referring to off an actual tree.

You can't sent any plant material to California in the mail in the form of art work. It has to be inspected, it a long drawn out process. This is to protect the fruit and veggie crops.

You can use any type of material to make a log/stick. Paper, straw, tooth pick or you can go to any craft store. It is plenty of fall items in the stores or in your back yard. In addition, you can even draw one.

Just so my partner knows, per @sweetred35 's above comment, I went ahead & made my 'wood' out of paper. We have some serious bugs & issues here right now so I chose to make a faux wood. Afterall, paper came from a tree... right? ;)
