Description:

In the absence of a Swappers Anonymous self help group, I decided that the alternative to facing my addiction would be to just embrace it and become a host too!

This is my first attempt at hosting so do be kind.

The title was the hardest thing but I called it Twirly Handwritten Playful letter because I'd like you to write a Twirly Handwritten Playful letter to 2 partners. Genius title when you think about it really...

What do I mean by twirly?

I have a feeling most of you will already know this but if you don't you can see an example in the photograph. I mean don't follow any straight lines when you write. You can write in a circle, several circles, a triangle, a heart - around the edges of your page and into the centre.. It's up to you but you will need to move your paper in some way.

What size?

You should use a piece of paper roughly A5 (210 x 148 mm/ 8.3 x 5.8 in).

Homemade stationery.

Make the sheet of paper look like it is in a stationery set by decorating it - this can be using illustrations, backgrounds, you can be creative with this bit so use your imagination. That will make up part of the playful element.

What do I mean by Playful?

The whole theme of this letter is around playfulness - I'm just about to be featured in Septembers issue of SPROUT MAGAZINE - (you can find it on facebook) and the focus is Playfulness so I thought it might be nice to spread some. In your letter you could include (these are just examples):

  • What you think of when someone talks about play.
  • What do you class as play?
  • How did you add play to your week/month/year.?
  • Do you get enough play?
  • Is your art your playtime?
  • Perhaps you want to write a poem or verse about play?
  • or Think about play when you were a child perhaps?
  • Draw a picture about play to go with what you write?

As long as your letter is playful and doesn't follow the horizontal lines we usually have in letter then the rest is up to you.

How many partners?

Send to 2 partners - trying to make them different from eachother. It doesn't have to be too long - it's up to you but I'd say try to cover both sides of your sheet and perhaps write a swirly note to the postman on the envie.

I am so addicted to swap-bot that I do check in often so do email me or leave a message if you have any questions. I'm sure I have missed something as this is my first host.

HAVE FUN - that is the main thing. Make your partners smile.

Hello there - just to let you know I will angel - if anyone doesn't get something in the post for this - although do please email and check first as they may well have sent something and the postal system decided they would have more fun with it than it's destination. x

I will also let people in if they have had a 1 or 3 and have an explanation as to what happened on their profile. I think people deserve second chances - if I turn out to be wrong don't worry - you will get something lovely from me instead. x

Nice job. It was a good idea, and I had fun. Thanks! Although I have come to the conclusion that "wavy" is better than "circles". I got dizzy reading!
