Scavanger Hunt

Hi All! First I want to thank TXMommaNolana for promoting me and allowing me to host this swap.

For this swap we're going to make a Scavanger Hunt jar with our children! (I just completed a similiar one in the public forum, and it was fun and I thought this would be great for the kids).

What you'll need atleast an 8oz size bottle or jar. Try not to use a flimsy plastic bottle, they will get dented too easily. A gatoraid bottle, Fiji water or another plastic one that feels "tough" will be great. You can use glass or plastic, that's up to you. Try to get all the adhesive off the bottle if your recycling. For the one I did, I bought a new container at Joanns, it was a 12 oz jar and around 2.50.

Atleast 10 items to put inside the container. (you can use more) These can be anything you have around the house or items you can get out of gumball machines. We have so many little figures from gumball machines, and what a great way to reuse them, and don't forget about using the little containers they come in, the small ones would be a great item to look for. You can also use alpha beads strung together if you want to make it personalized for your child(ren).

Then you need something to fill the jar with and hide the items. You can use glitter, sand (not for sending overseas though), or maybe pony beads (I have a ton of these and don't use them). Fill your jar up but leave some space so the jar can be moved around to look for the items.

Before making the jar, you'll need to take a picture of the items, and make a copy of it. You can have wallets printed pretty cheaply. What I did was put the two pictures back to back and then used clear tape to seal them, used a whole punch in the corner and added ribbon and then put the ribbon inside the jar, and then used some glue to seal it.
