I'm watching this swap and wondering isn't it a type3 swap? You have set it as type2 ;)

Standard size postcards are the ones that are 3 1/2 inches by 5 inches.

Once again I see you are into checking type swaps. Very good however I believe this swap is also type 2 and the coordinator was right.

type 3 are more labour intensive. Standard cards are 5"1/2 X 4"1/4 which is different than a postcard. The swap is asking for a card and a bookmark - that is labour intensive. Unless I am reading wrong the swap is not for a postcard - which would be a type 2 swap. I too am watching this swap and think it should be a type 3.

Having said that it is up to the host to code whatever she sees fit.

I usually mail my cards in a large envelope (non bubble) and I have not received negative feedback from partners in the past. Having said that, I have participated in swaps where I have to send a large package and those for me are type 3 (also costly). I have always made my challenges type 2. This is #7 and this issue has never come up before.

My minimum card size (or standard size) is a 8.5X11 cardstock cut it half. I personally make my cards bigger.

GrammaSherry, your mother was accepted in my previous swap and I don't see any problems with it.

type 2 type 3 what does it matter either your in or your out! @grstamping has done nice challenges in the past and I have joined a few and have had fun.

@namabear - totally agree. Join or not - hosts create their swaps and code how they see fit.

My mom has LOVED the swaps she has participated in! She now bugs on a daily basis because it takes sooooo long for Canada post to deliver! She doesn't get why she only is sending to one person when she would rather send and receive to dozens!!!!!!!!

GrammaSherry -maybe I should challenge your mother a little and create a swap with multiple partners. The reason I haven't done many of those is the cost of postage. Many people send their work of art in bubble envelopes and it is an expensive affair. Tell her to stay posted, I might have something in the work for September.

Yep, Canada post is slow. When I mail a letter to my mother on the East Coast, it could take up to two weeks! When I mail a letter to my penpals in Germany, they receive it the next day! What's up with that? Mind you, the postage is close to 2$ for a letter...
