Description:

Lets have fun with tissue paper!!!! This is a pretty simple little fun way of getting rid of all that extra tissue paper we have laying around from Christmas etc. Here is what you need. Different colored scraps of tissue paper, glue and water, an old paint brush you don't care about and a heavy type of board like illustration board. Tagboard and Bristol board works okay though it warps a little. Here is what you do. 1. Mix water and glue together until it is a little bit soupy.
2. On your piece of board paint some glue on a small section and then take one of your pieces of tissue paper and place it over that area. Go back over that same piece of tissue paper with glue again, brushing it on with the paint brush. Some bleeding may occur but thats okay, it makes for interesting colors. 3. Repeat the process over and over again using different colors and more than one layer if you would like. Try and see what happens when you lay yellow tissue paper over blue.
4. Let the tissue paper crumple up or crumple it yourself for different textural effects. Just make sure its securely glued on.
5. For a different effect, take a photo of something, glue it down first and then glue only light colored paper over it. Make sure you do "Paint" the glue over each strip of tissue paper. Yellow works well to make the photograph look old. 6. Once all the glue is dried take a sharpie and pick out shapes that you see such as maybe you see a boat or something. The above image illustrates this with the mountain, sunset, cactus limb scene. You can also just zentangle over it or draw whatever or glue other things on top. Its totally up to you.
7. When you are completely done you can add a Liquitex Gloss medium over it to make it shine. (Its pretty!)

Standard ATC size please and just have fun. You might want to do a couple of these. They do make great backgrounds for future ATC's.

Any questions just ask!!

Love it. I have some pretty coloured/printed tissue paper. In craft class we also used this technique with the top, very thin layer of a printed serviette/paper napkin. The layer with the print on it. (I had to discard 2 or 3 layers underneath of white that 'padded' the serviette out into something more substantial to use than just the one fragile top layer, if you get what I mean.) They wrinkled beautifully - not too much! :) I much prefer tissue paper though, so I'm signing up.

Sounds cool. I love using tissue paper so I thought this would be a unique ATC. :)
